Verdict
The clearest difference is price: DailyEdge.ie at Free against Mocast's $4.99. DailyEdge.ie also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 75%). Mocast's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and chart position (#35 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
DailyEdge.ie is free to download; Mocast costs $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Mocast holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DailyEdge.ie has 37 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of DailyEdge.ie's written reviews are positive against 75% of Mocast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
DailyEdge.ie ships an update every 3 weeks, Mocast every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
