RoundXer

RoundXer replaces the paper patient list on ward rounds. It is made for doctors who round on inpatients every day. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE • Patient data is kept only on your device, in an encrypted database (SQLCipher, AES-256). • No account, no server, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. The app makes no network connections. • RoundXer's files are kept out of iCloud backups. • Optional app lock with Face ID or a PIN, and automatic lock when you leave the app. YOUR ROUND, IN ORDER • A list per ward or unit, in your round order (or sorted by bed), with a "seen" tick that resets every night. • Unstable and Follow-up flags with a reason; flagged patients stay at the top. • Search by name (Arabic spellings too), MRN or bed. THE PATIENT PAGE • Past medical and surgical history at the top, then today's notes, active problems, inpatient medications, investigations, procedures, consultations and the hospital course. • Swipe to the next patient in round order. On iPad, the list and the patient page sit side by side. PROGRESS NOTES • Several notes per day: round, event, follow-up or your own title. • A new note starts from your last one, so you only edit what changed. • Saved as you type. Dictate with the keyboard's microphone. • Export a note with your own templates (daily progress, brief, discharge summary) and share or copy it. FOLLOW-UPS AND HANDOVER • Every open follow-up across your areas, with a reminder when it is due. • I-PASS handover per area, generated from your list, editable, shared as text or PDF. • Present mode: one patient per screen in large type for the consultant round. MOVE YOUR DATA SAFELY • Encrypted backup files (.roundxer) that only your passphrase or recovery key can open. • Move them to your computer (RoundXer for Windows and Mac) with AirDrop, or share selected patients with a colleague using a one-time passphrase. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES RoundXer holds identifiable patient information. Follow your hospital's rules on what you may record on a personal device and for how long, keep your iPhone locked, and share exports only through channels your hospital allows. RoundXer is a note-taking and organisation tool for healthcare professionals. It does not give medical advice, make diagnoses or suggest treatment.

Verdict
Med Quick and RoundXer are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
