About

Humblebrag

Humblebrag is a day counter and a step counter that tells you what your numbers actually mean. It reads the activity on your iPhone, takes the dates you care about, and turns both into comparisons you will remember. You walked 51,913 steps this week. That is 21 times across the Brooklyn Bridge. Your baby is 214 days old and has slept through 41 percent of it. You and your partner have been together 4,687 days, which works out to twelve laps around the Sun. Humblebrag requires a paid subscription. There is no free version, and every feature described below needs that subscription to use. EVERY COMPARISON IS REAL Nothing here is invented. The facts come from Wikidata and from public sources checked by hand, and every one of them links to its Wikipedia article so you can see exactly where the number came from. Some of them sound ridiculous. They are still true. WHAT YOU CAN COUNT Steps, running, climbing and calories come straight from Apple Health. Everything else is a date you type in once. • Days since anything, including days sober and days since you quit • How long you and someone have been together • A baby's age, counted down to the day • People and pets, counted from a birthday • Your car's odometer SHARE CARDS THAT LOOK LIKE REAL THINGS Each one is built to look like the object it imitates: a paper receipt, a boarding pass, a nutrition label, a trading card, a polaroid, an old computer window. Pick one and send it. WIDGETS Put any counter on your home screen or your lock screen. The number arrives already translated into a comparison, so you get the good part without opening the app. A NEW COMPARISON EVERY DAY Tomorrow the same number gets a different comparison. You can also ask for a fresh one whenever you feel like it, and save any line you want to keep. SEALING A COUNTER Some counters should stop. Press and hold one to seal it, and the number freezes where it is and stays there. It stops being a counter and becomes a keepsake. PRIVACY Your health data and everything you type stay on your iPhone. The comparisons are put together on the device. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and your health data is never sent anywhere. SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED Humblebrag costs $29.99 per year or $5.99 per month. That is the United States price, and your local price is shown in the app before you buy anything. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it in Settings, under your Apple Account, then Subscriptions.
