CarPrep vs WingDex

Buying a new car? Use CarPrep to do a walk-around inspection to make sure everything looks great, so you can drive away happy.

Identify all your bird photos at once, not one at a time. Select a stack from your library, and WingDex sorts them into outings, identifies every bird on your device, and builds your life list. Made for bird photographers, and for anyone with a camera roll full of birds. Free to use, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases. An account is optional. HUNDREDS OF PHOTOS, ONE PASS Select a whole shoot from your library, or share it straight from Photos, including RAW files. WingDex groups everything into outings by time and location, names the places, and flags photos you've already added. Then review the identifications and save all your sightings at once. IDENTIFY WITH CONFIDENCE Your photos stay in your photo library, while WingDex builds your birding record with sighting details and reference photos. A custom on-device AI model covers over 10,000 bird species, then ranks matches by what's actually seen where and when you took the photo. Compare your shot with reference, check alternative matches and confidence scores, and use range and season markers to sort out lookalikes. YOUR BIRDING HISTORY, CONNECTED Every outing shows the birds you saw, and each species page brings together your sightings. Search and sort your life list, explore species details, and keep dates, counts, and notes together. WORKS OFFLINE, STAYS PRIVATE Identification runs entirely on your iPhone, so it works with no signal and your photos stay on your device. You only need a connection for reference images, place names, and syncing. YOU CONTROL YOUR DATA Your records are never locked in. Import your eBird history, export every sighting in eBird-compatible format, or delete everything anytime. Import and export require a free account. From a handful of backyard photos to years of birding trips, keep the birds and the history together in WingDex.
