Taper

Taper is a calm marathon training plan and running coach for people who would rather run than read charts. Every morning it answers one question – what should I run today, and why? – and quietly handles the rest. PEAK WITHOUT BREAKING • A training plan built back from your real race date: 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon. • It bends around your life. Miss a run, sleep badly or feel a niggle, and the plan reshapes itself instead of piling on. • Built-in guardrails stop your weekly distance and long runs from ramping up too fast, the usual road to injury. • Runs from Apple Health tick themselves off. Nothing to log by hand. TRAIN YOUR GUT TOO • Plenty of marathons fall apart around mile 18 because the stomach was never trained. Taper treats fueling as training: you practice on long runs for months, so race day holds no surprises. • A race-day fueling plan in plain words: when to take a gel, when to drink, how much salt, and when caffeine helps. • Race-week carb loading, worked out for your body weight. A COACH THAT ADAPTS TO YOU • Morning readiness from your overnight heart-rate data: a gentle "go for it" or "take it easy today". • Your coach reads your runs and explains what they mean in plain words. It runs on your device, so your data stays with you. • Run form check: film twenty seconds of running with your iPhone propped up, and see your cadence, symmetry and form explained simply. Videos never leave your phone. WATCH EVERY RUN ADD UP • Weekly distance, personal bests and streaks at a glance. • Share a clean run card with your club or friends. FREE AND PRO Downloading Taper and tracking your runs is free. Taper Pro adds your full race plan, the coach, run form check and the race-day fueling plan. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Fox Cities Marathon at none against Taper's 2. Fox Cities Marathon also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.2 vs 18.0). Taper's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
