Build confidence in your English writing, one practice piece at a time. WriteRight helps you check grammar, improve sentences and rewrite your work for your chosen exam and task. Choose IELTS Academic or General Training, or a Cambridge English exam such as A2 Key (KET), B1 Preliminary (PET), B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) or C2 Proficiency (CPE). Writing options also include young learner, BEC, TKT and CELTA categories. Start with your own words. Type or paste your writing, or recognise text from a photo. Add the question so your rewrite can take the task into account. Check grammar first, then request a rewrite for your selected exam and writing type. Keep your practice together. Your current draft saves automatically. Save writing and feedback to your history, search earlier work, and copy or share the text you want to revisit. Generate learning notes from the writing in your history list to review useful corrections and vocabulary. The redesigned app brings clearer navigation, a calmer version of WriteRight's familiar colours and an ad-free experience for everyone. Available on iPhone and iPad, with English and Simplified Chinese interfaces. New users receive 30 free uses. Each successful grammar check, rewrite or learning-notes request uses one free use. Optional weekly, monthly and yearly subscriptions provide unlimited use of these features. Existing subscribers can continue with their current subscription or restore purchases using the same App Store account. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Prices and billing periods are shown before purchase. Some conversations you rehearse in your head for a week and still fumble. Rehearse lets you say them out loud first — to someone who answers back. HOW IT WORKS Pick the conversation you have been putting off. Talk to a character who pushes back the way the real person will: the manager who glances at the time, the report who explains before you finish the sentence, the director who restates rather than rethinks. Then get told, specifically, how it landed and what to try next. THIRTY SITUATIONS, WRITTEN FOR A FIRST-TIME MANAGER • Saying no — to your own manager, to a deadline set by a press release, to the same request asked twice • Difficult people — the defensive report, the one who goes over your head, the colleague who will not use the new tools • Feedback — your first critical conversation, telling your boss a target is not real, answering a question about pay • Standing up for your team — one headcount and two teams, the favour that is really a project • Hard moments — the week after layoffs, a report asking about AI, enforcing a policy you did not choose, someone good who just resigned OR WRITE YOUR OWN Describe the conversation you are dreading and the person you are having it with. Say when it is happening, and it counts down to the day. A CARD TO TAKE IN WITH YOU Every rehearsal writes one: your opening line, the thing you will not trade away, and what to say to the three ways they are most likely to push back. Open it outside the room. THEN THE PART NOTHING ELSE DOES On the day, Rehearse asks about the REAL conversation — not the rehearsal. Whatever you learned comes back as coaching the next time you practise it. VOICE OR FACE TO FACE Talk by voice anywhere, or switch on a lifelike, lip-synced face that reacts while you speak. Voice costs a fifth of the credits. WHAT YOU GET BACK A score out of 100, four dimensions scored out of five, the full transcript, and badges that track how much you have practised — never what you practised. Credits are the only limit. Every scenario is open to everyone. Subscriptions (Voice, Pro, Coach) renew automatically every month or year until cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Verdict
Write Right for Exam and Rehearse are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Write Right for Exam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Rehearse sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Write Right for Exam ships an update every 3 days, Rehearse every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
