Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Flight Notifications at none against NextFly's shown. Flight Notifications also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). NextFly's advantage is ratings volume (399 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NextFly sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and Flight Notifications sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for NextFly against 5.0 for Flight Notifications. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NextFly has 399 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 99% and 100% positive.
NextFly ships an update every 3 weeks, Flight Notifications every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
