Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Echo at 2.1K against NextSpin's 12. NextSpin's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Echo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and NextSpin sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Echo against 4.9 for NextSpin. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Echo has 2.1K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of Echo's written reviews are positive against 100% of NextSpin's.
Echo ships an update fortnightly, NextSpin monthly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
