About

vPlayer HiFi Classic

vPlayer HiFi Classic is a standalone edition purpose-built for iPhone 7 ~ iPhone X, targeting iOS 15 ~ 16 (with compatible iPad support). It retains the core audio playback features only, and the purpose is to turn your retired iPhone/iPad into a dedicated hi-fi player. If you own a newer iPhone or iPad, please search for "vPlayer HiFi" — that app will continue to receive ongoing updates and improvements. Features: ā–ø Bit-perfect — Custom AudioUnit pipeline locked to the hardware sample rate. vPlayer matches your source rate so the system never touches your signal. ā–ø Native DSD Playback — DSF and DFF, decoded through a custom engine with 4 selectable FIR decimation filters (Steep / Extended / Balanced / Conservative). Choose 176.4 kHz or 352.8 kHz output. No transcoding, no compromise. ā–ø SACD-R ISO Decoder — Native Scarlet Book TOC parser. DSD64/128 playback with selectable decimation (176.4 kHz or 352.8 kHz). ā–ø Samba / NAS Streaming — Browse and stream high-resolution audio straight from your NAS over Wi-Fi, with smart caching so only the album or ISO in use is held on the device. ā–ø Memory Playback — Preload entire tracks into a dedicated 300 MB memory buffer — enough to hold a full CD-length album or a high-rate DSD track. Eliminates jitter from live file I/O. ā–ø Polyphase SRC + FIR Upsampling — 6 SRC algorithms from Linear to Sinc-512 tap, with Kaiser-windowed polyphase resampling. Independent FIR upsampling at 2Ɨ / 4Ɨ / 8Ɨ with selectable tap count (31 / 63 / 127) and Minimum-Phase conversion. SRC and FIR are mutually exclusive — one clean path, no double-processing. ā–ø Formats — MP3 Ā· AIFF Ā· M4A (Lite). Upgrade to Pro for studio-grade WAV / FLAC / DSD (DSF, DFF) native playback. ā–ø Room EQ — Measure your room with a sine sweep, then layer automatic correction EQ on top of your own EQ. Warm / Neutral targets. ā–ø 10-Band Graphic EQ — ±12 dB manual adjustment with a per-band reference guide. Instant response, zero latency. Toggle on/off directly from the signal chain bar. ā–ø Parametric EQ (PEQ) — Full 10-band parametric equalizer: frequency, Q, and gain per band, with peaking, low-shelf, and high-shelf filters. Includes a live frequency-response curve. 13 Music Genre Presets — Classical, jazz, vocal, rock/pop, and folk tone shaping, crafted for vPlayer. ā–ø Clock & Buffer — Control IO buffer duration (Auto or manual 256–4096 frames) to reduce jitter coupling with your DAC's clock. ā–ø Output Covered — Built-in speaker, wired headphones, AirPlay, Bluetooth, and external USB DAC. vPlayer detects your active route and matches the hardware sample rate automatically. ā–ø Hands-On Signal Chain — DSD Ā· MEM Ā· SRC āŠ• FIR Ā· EQ/PEQ Ā· DITH. Tap any chip to open its config panel — switch DSD filters, choose SRC algorithms, set FIR parameters, adjust EQ. Real-time route detection shows your output device. ā–ø Smart Invert — Invert the whole interface for a light look, handy on OLED panels and for long listening sessions. ā–ø Lab — An experimental tools panel: sampling-rate reference, room EQ, lossy-source enhance (pre-echo / exciter), callback & cache monitors, and a switch to show or hide the Pro entry. ā–ø Drag album folders via Finder file sharing into the app's Documents folder. Pull down to refresh. Swipe to delete. Folders are auto-detected.
