About

DocDrive

Features

DocDrive is a secure document management platform built for businesses. It enables teams to store, organize, and share documents with precise, explicit control over who can access what—both within your company and with external partners. Access in DocDrive is strictly permission-based. A file or folder is available only to users, groups, or companies that have been explicitly granted access. The system uses a deterministic permission model with no hidden inheritance or implicit rules. Company owners have full visibility at all times into exactly who has access to every resource. All communication between clients and DocDrive is encrypted. Each company’s data is fully isolated from every other company on the platform. Platform operators and system administrators cannot bypass access controls. DocDrive processes operational data ephemerally during requests and does not retain it beyond what is strictly required to provide the service. Backups are performed daily, stored separately from the primary environment, retained only temporarily for emergency recovery, and then permanently deleted. The platform supports multiple roles—Owner, Admin, Editor, and Member—each with clearly defined capabilities. You can also organize users into groups (such as Accounting, Legal, or Sales) and assign permissions at the group level, making access management scalable and consistent. External sharing is explicit and controlled. To share data with another company, two steps are required: first, a connection must be established; second, specific folders must be shared with defined permissions. A connection alone grants no access. External companies can only see the exact files and folders you choose to share—they have no visibility into your users, groups, or internal structure. Privacy by default. All companies are private and invisible unless you choose otherwise. Without an explicit connection, no company can discover or access another. You can use DocDrive purely as an internal system, or selectively collaborate by sharing your Company ID and approving connection requests. Multi-company support. A single account can manage multiple companies. Each company remains fully isolated, with its own users, files, and permissions. Switching between companies is seamless, and you can optionally establish controlled connections between them.
