Verdict
RocketTrainer and Catchr both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of RocketTrainer's written reviews are positive against 29% of Catchr's. RocketTrainer also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and device support (3 vs 1). Catchr's advantage is ratings volume (4.9K vs 6) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RocketTrainer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Catchr sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for RocketTrainer against 4.7 for Catchr. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Catchr has 4.9K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of RocketTrainer's written reviews are positive against 29% of Catchr's.
RocketTrainer ships an update fortnightly, Catchr weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
