Correct tire pressure means safety, better fuel economy and tires that last longer. The problem: nobody remembers the number while standing at the air pump. Tire PSI solves it with one photo. Photograph the sticker on the driver door jamb and the AI reads the numbers the manufacturer set for your exact car: front and rear, and when the sticker lists full load and the spare, those too. What you get • Photograph the sticker, the numbers are read automatically • Switch between psi, bar and kPa with one tap • My cars: every car you scanned stays on your device, even offline • Sticker proof: a crop of your photo is kept next to the number so you can see where it came from • No sticker? Pick your model from a list built from other drivers' scans, and if your model is not there yet, get an estimate clearly marked as one • "Tires are hot" switch: just been driving? The app adds the usual correction • A monthly reminder to check pressure, off by default No account, no sign-up, no personal data collected. Photos are never stored on the server. Free, with one small banner. Important: the numbers are read from the sticker in your car or from other drivers' scans; in some cases they are an AI estimate and are labelled as such. The sticker in your car and the owner's manual are the authoritative numbers. Measure when the tires are cold.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Mac Tools at none against Tire PSI's shown. Mac Tools also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 22 months vs every 67 months). Tire PSI's advantage is rating (2.7 vs 2.3). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Tire PSI holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Mac Tools's written reviews are positive against 33% of Tire PSI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Mac Tools ships an update every 22 months, Tire PSI every 67 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
