Can't put your phone down? Run Your Time makes screen time something you earn. The app blocks your most distracting apps until you exercise. Work out for ten minutes, and you unlock ten minutes of screen time — one minute of activity for every minute on your phone. Run Your Time is a subscription app and begins with a free trial. If it isn't the right fit, you can cancel anytime in Settings. HOW IT WORKS Choose the apps you want blocked, such as social media or games. Complete a workout using any fitness app that syncs with Apple Health — Strava, Nike Run Club, Peloton, and Apple Watch workouts all count. Open Run Your Time, and your exercise minutes convert into screen time. When your time is up, your apps lock again automatically. WHAT'S INCLUDED Block unlimited apps, enforced by real iOS Screen Time Earn screen time from any workout and any fitness app Bank your earned time throughout the week and redeem it anytime through midnight Saturday Set a custom exchange rate, such as one minute of exercise for two minutes of screen time Pause a session and save the remaining time for later Track a live countdown in the Dynamic Island and on your Lock Screen STAY HONEST Ask a friend or partner to set the passcode. Without it, you can't unblock your apps or change the rules — real accountability, not a setting you can quietly switch off. Your health data never leaves your device. The app reads only your workout duration to credit your screen time. Effective Strategies to Stop Mindless Scrolling Free users can enjoy limited access to features 1-3: interrupting your mindless scrolling up to 30 times. Paid users benefit from unlimited usage and more powerful, effective features to help you stay focused. Limit distracting apps, like TikTok and Instagram, to enhance your productivity now! 1. Select Distractions Identify distracting apps like TikTok and set usage limits. 2. Shield Reminder A prompt will block apps when time is up, asking, "Why are you opening this again?" 3. Defer App Opening Set defer times to reduce impulsive app usage. 4. Activate Strict Focus Mode Block selected apps for 15 minutes to work uninterrupted. Exit focus mode when you're ready, helping you scroll with intention, not mindlessly. 5. Privacy & Data All data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect any user data. How much time do you spend scrolling through short-form content? 3 hours a day? 5 hours? Maybe even 10? Scrolling is fun, addictive, and easy—but it can quietly steal your time, leaving you feeling unproductive and frustrated. CloseReels is built for people who value their time. Whether you're a professional, business owner, student, or anyone who understands that time is precious, CloseReels helps you break free from mindless scrolling. We get it—scrolling addiction is tough to stop. That’s why SigmaGrind gently interrupts your scrolling every 5-20 minutes (fully customizable) to remind you to scroll with intent, not habit. Take control of your focus and time. With our Pro subscription, unlock Strict Focus Mode — a powerful tool to block endless scrolling cycles and keep you on track. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Run Your Time at 5.0 against CloseReels's 4.6. CloseReels's advantage is ratings volume (154 vs 1) and update cadence (daily vs weekly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Run Your Time sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and CloseReels sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Run Your Time holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CloseReels has 154 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Run Your Time's written reviews are positive against 45% of CloseReels's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Run Your Time ships an update weekly, CloseReels daily. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
