## App Overview WisCalc is a practical loan companion for iPhone that helps you make better borrowing decisions before you apply, and manage repayment with confidence after you borrow. It combines transparent cost comparison, repayment planning, and timely reminders in one lightweight app. Whether you are comparing multiple loan offers or checking if early payoff is worth it, WisCalc gives you clear numbers so you can choose the option that fits your budget. ## Why We Built WisCalc I noticed many people start with small borrowing, but for many reasons, debt can snowball over time. In the end, some people are forced to live around daily repayment pressure, constantly borrowing from one place to repay another. While personal financial habits are part of the story, many loan apps also hide important information. For example, some apps do not clearly list total repayment interest. They may only show an annualized rate, remaining principal, and current due interest. This can create a misleading impression, and the real total amount to be repaid may be much higher than it appears. WisCalc is built to make the full repayment picture clear from the moment you create a loan. It calculates costs across the entire repayment cycle and shows principal and interest for each installment, as well as totals over the full loan period. Exported reports can list all loans, remaining principal, remaining interest, monthly repayment totals, and date-level repayment amounts. In short, WisCalc exists to help you stay fully informed about your loans and repayments. We hope it helps you pay off debt sooner. WisCalc will remain free forever. ## Key Features - Compare multiple loan offers side by side - Add loan products manually with amount, term, rate, fees, repayment method, and early repayment policy. - Instantly compare monthly payment, total repayment, total cost, and estimated effective annual cost. - Preview repayment plans clearly - View installment-by-installment breakdowns of principal, interest, and remaining balance. - Sort offers by total cost or monthly payment to find the most affordable option faster. - Manage active loans after borrowing - Convert a selected offer into your personal loan contract. - Track key dates such as disbursement date and first repayment date. - Mark installments as paid or unpaid to monitor repayment progress. - Simulate early repayment scenarios - Test different penalty rules: no penalty, fixed fee, or percentage-based fee. - See estimated payoff amount, potential interest savings, and overall cost impact before making a decision. - Stay on schedule with reminders - Receive local repayment reminders before and on due dates. - Optionally sync repayment events with your system calendar for better visibility. - Privacy-first local experience - Your loan data is stored on your device. - No required bank API connection for core functionality. ## Who It’s For WisCalc is designed for anyone who wants to borrow more rationally, reduce repayment stress, and avoid hidden cost surprises. ## Note WisCalc provides calculation and planning support only and does not constitute financial or legal advice. Please note that different loan apps can use very different calculation methods. WisCalc tries to match those methods as closely as possible, but you may still see small differences (for example, a few cents) in principal or interest compared with another platform. This is normal. If the gap is larger, you may have selected a different calculation method from the one used by that lender. You can switch methods in the app and compare again. If the result is still not close, please send feedback. We will continue improving this in future updates.
