Protego for Reddit vs Chats Forever

Add a keyword, a community, a user, or a domain, and matching posts quietly disappear from your feed. Protego is a Safari extension with a companion app, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. WHY THE BROWSER: Reddit belongs in your browser. The official app is built to keep you scrolling; in Safari, you decide what Reddit shows you. No notifications pulling you back, no "get the app" walls, and no Reddit app collecting in the background. FILTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE: - Keywords - Hide posts whose title, body, or community name matches a word or phrase - Communities - Hide everything from a community, or block its page entirely - Users - Hide one person's posts and comments - Domains - Hide posts linking to a particular site - Social Media - Hide posts linking to X, Instagram, TikTok, and more Keywords go further: * matches a word and its variations, # matches any 1 to 3 digit number, and groups switch a whole set on or off at once. Any filter switches off without deleting it. Reveal Mode outlines every post a filter would hide instead of hiding it, and Preview tries a keyword before you save it. Not sure what to filter? On a device with Apple Intelligence, pick a topic or type a word, and Protego suggests real terms to add. SET UP IN ONE TAP: Pick a preset (Off, Minimal, Balanced, or Focused) and Protego applies a recommended set of options, bringing new Reddit closer to the old one. Fine-tune anything afterward. CLEAR AWAY THE CLUTTER: - Hide thumbnails, avatars, flair, badges, vote controls, award and join buttons, community banners, and pinned highlight cards - Hide recommendations, promoted posts, login and app nudges, and Reddit Answers - Collapse or hide comments carrying media, and the moderator comment pinned to the top of a thread MAKE REDDIT EASIER TO USE: - Share a post, or a comment with the thread above it, as an image instead of a screenshot - Color-code comment threads by reply depth, with four themes to pick from - Jump between comments by reply depth, and return to the top of a thread - Open comment pages with every reply chain folded away - Open posts from a feed in a new tab, keeping your place - Land on old Reddit automatically, with an endless feed - Give old Reddit the dark theme it has never had, and drop communities' custom styling PUT REDDIT OUT OF REACH: Limits blocks Reddit itself, a step at a time: Home and Popular, then all main feeds, then everything but direct links to posts, then all of Reddit. Pair a limit with a Focus like Sleep or Study and it turns itself on. PRIVACY: No account, no tracking, no browsing history collected. Your filter lists stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. Keyword suggestions run on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which stores nothing and never receives your lists. YOURS ON EVERY DEVICE: - One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro - No subscription, and optional tips are the only in-app purchase. Nothing is locked behind them - Lists sync over your own iCloud, even with the app closed - Works on new and old Reddit - English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese - Search every setting by name or by what it does - Import and export your lists - Stats showing how much Protego has filtered, with a shareable card Protego filters text: post titles, bodies, community and author names, and link addresses. It cannot read words inside images or videos. Filtered posts are hidden from your view. Nothing is removed from Reddit, and nobody is notified.

Chats Forever turns your favorite conversations into a beautiful personal archive. Keep the chats that matter most — conversations with loved ones, family, friends, or anyone whose messages you never want to lose. Import a conversation and relive it just as a real chat, complete with photos, animated GIFs, voice messages and other shared memories. Tap photos to view them full screen, play voice messages directly inside the conversation and enjoy animated GIFs as they were meant to be seen. Your archive can keep growing too. Export the same conversation again later and import it into Chats Forever. New messages are automatically added to your existing chat, so you don’t have to start over. Features include: • Import and preserve your favorite conversations • Photos displayed directly inside the chat • Tap photos to view them full screen • Animated GIF playback • Play voice messages inside the conversation • Add missing videos manually when they were not included in the original chat export • Re-import a conversation later to add new messages • Choose different themes for your chats • Use a photo from your conversation as the cover • Add fun animated pop-ups with special memories or notes • Organize conversations into folders • Protect private folders with a PIN • Export your saved conversations again • Optional PDF export with photos and statistics • Everything is processed locally on your device • No tracking • No analytics • No advertising Some messaging apps do not include videos when exporting a conversation. Chats Forever cannot change what is included in the original export, but when a missing video is detected you can add your saved video manually afterwards. Your conversations stay yours. Chats Forever does not upload your imported chats, photos or files to its own servers. One simple purchase. No subscription. No ads. Chats Forever — because some conversations are worth keeping forever.
