Knowing a word isn't recognizing it. It's being able to explain it. WordGrasp shows you a word in a real sentence and asks what it means, in your own words. Say it out loud or type it. You get an honest grade (correct, partly right or not quite) and a short note on the nuance you missed. Then the word comes back at the right moment, until it sticks. HOW IT WORKS • A few new words a day: pick 1, 5, 10 or 20, at easy, medium or hard, or mix them. • Explain each word by voice or by typing. Speech becomes text on your device wherever Apple supports it, and only the text is used. • Every answer is scored out of 100. Retries are allowed, each one worth 10 points less. • Words you miss come back tomorrow, shaky ones in a few days, and ones you nail spread further apart. MORE THAN A DEFINITION • Hear every word pronounced, with an easy respelling. • Word profiles with definitions, origins, memory hooks, examples, synonyms and opposites. • Proverb breaks after three right in a row, and a daily capstone to finish the day. KEEP GOING • Streaks with freezes for the days life gets in the way. • Up to three gentle reminders, skipped once today's words are done. • Home and Lock Screen widgets with your next word, your streak and today's score. • Share your daily score card without spoiling anyone's words, or challenge a friend. • Your vault of every word, with search, filters and your progress over time. YOURS, PRIVATELY No account and no sign-up. Your progress stays on your device. Only the text of an answer is ever sent for grading, and we don't keep it.
