LakeNav™

LakeNav is the only app built exclusively for Lake Murray, South Carolina. Not a national boating app with a Lake Murray filter — built here, for here, for every boater and angler on this water. THE MAP The satellite chart covers all 50,000 acres and 650 miles of Lake Murray shoreline. Every marina, boat ramp, fuel dock, and point of interest is pinned and navigable — tap anything and navigate directly to it in two taps. No chart experience required. Turn on the depth overlay and real depth numbers appear across the lake, color-scaled and corrected to today's USGS water level. Tap any point on the water to check the depth. Fourteen fishing spots — channels, points, and proven holes around Lake Murray — are pinned on the map and accessible through the Fishing layer or Ask LakeNav. ASK LAKENAV Your onboard AI concierge lives in the map. Tap the sailboat icon and ask anything — where the closest fuel dock is, what's biting right now, how to get to a specific cove, what the lake level means for your ramp. Ask LakeNav pulls from structured local data and answers with results you can act on immediately. Tap the result and start navigating. LIVE LAKE CONDITIONS Everything you need before you leave the dock, on one screen, updated every five minutes from real government sensors: water level, water temperature, wind speed and direction, air temperature, feels like, humidity, dewpoint, UV index, air quality, visibility, dam release temperature, sunrise, and sunset. LakeNav pulls the live dam release temperature from USGS sensor 02168504 on the Saluda River below Lake Murray Dam — data no national app surfaces for this lake. When surface water hits 80°F and the dam is releasing 54°F tailrace water, stripers are stacking at the outflow. LakeNav tells you that. The 7-day forecast and hour-by-hour outlook are built in. A live animated wind map over Lake Murray powered by Windy.com shows exactly what the wind is doing across the lake in real time. NWS weather alerts push to your phone the moment a warning or advisory is issued — breaking through Focus and silent mode. A nav-lights reminder fires 15 minutes before sunset because SC law requires running lights from sunset to sunrise. LakeNav's official weather partner is Captain Tyler Ryan — meteorologist, licensed boat captain, and weather anchor at ABC Columbia News 25. His live Lake Murray weather forecasts appear directly in the app when he posts to Facebook or YouTube. AI FISH ID Snap a photo of your catch. LakeNav identifies the species instantly — with a confidence level, Lake Murray habitat notes, and SC DNR legal information including size limits, bag limits, and seasons, all tied to today's live water conditions. Every catch is logged with the lake conditions at the time it was identified. Earn one point per identification and climb the Angler Standings — season-long rankings with end-of-summer and end-of-year awards. CAPTAIN'S LOG & FLOAT PLAN File a float plan before every trip. Your emergency contact receives an email the moment you depart with your full trip details. While your plan is active, LakeNav automatically logs your boat's GPS position about every 60 seconds, even with the app in the background. Check-ins and the SOS distress button send your exact position instantly. If you don't check in when expected, LakeNav's server automatically sends an overdue alert — with your last known coordinates on the lake, boat information, and direct numbers for SC DNR, Sea Tow, and the US Coast Guard. If your phone dies on the water, the people looking for you still get your last logged position. THE NAVIGATOR COMMUNITY Create a free Navigator profile, connect with fellow boaters, share photos, join groups, and message other anglers. The community is Lake Murray — no other lakes, no noise.
