Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SlashCraft at 5.0 against Rail Defence's 4.1. SlashCraft also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs fortnightly). Rail Defence's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rail Defence sells 18 one-off in-app purchases and SlashCraft sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
SlashCraft holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rail Defence has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Rail Defence ships an update fortnightly, SlashCraft daily. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
