TimeCap

A gym clock that fits in your pocket. TimeCap looks and works like the LED timer bolted to the wall of a good gym. Huge seven-segment digits, red on black, readable from the other end of the room. Prop your phone against a water bottle and it just works. TIMING YOU CAN ACTUALLY TRUST The clock is driven by real time, not by counting ticks — so it stays correct when you lock your phone, switch apps, or take a call mid-workout. Come back and it is exactly where it should be. No drift, no catching up, no restarting a set because the timer lost its place. IT NEVER DUCKS YOUR MUSIC Every cue is a short buzzer mixed over your music at full volume. Nothing dips, nothing pauses, nothing fades. Five volume levels, like the timers bolted to the wall. If you have ever abandoned a timer app because it kept interrupting your playlist, this is the one rule TimeCap will not break. IT KEEPS CALLING WHILE YOUR PHONE IS LOCKED Lock it, pocket it, and the cues keep coming on schedule. The workout also lives on your lock screen and in the Dynamic Island — segment, round and time remaining, without opening anything. EVERY WORKOUT, NOT JUST THE COMMON ONES AMRAP, EMOM, 10 Min OTM, For Time, Tabata, Inverse Tabata, Intervals, Stopwatch — all free, all with a get-ready countdown you control, and each one counting up or down as you prefer. And when a preset does not fit: the Builder. Name your own blocks, set each one's length and colour, mark it as work or rest, and repeat the whole sequence for as many rounds as you like. Sprint, rest, hold. Run, transition, station. Most timers only understand work and rest. This one understands your workout. TURN IT SIDEWAYS Landscape becomes gym mode: one huge readout, rounds on the left, time on the right, exactly like the wall unit. Set it down and read it from anywhere. ALSO INSIDE Rep counter: a full-screen tap target you can hit without looking History: every finished workout, with your weekly and monthly totals Share a finish card that looks like a photo of the clock Haptics that mirror every cue, so you feel it as well as hear it Works completely offline. No account. No sign-up. Nothing to set up. NO ADS. NOT ONE. Not a banner, not a video, not a watch-this-to-unlock. A timer you stare at mid-workout is exactly the wrong place for an advert, and it always will be. TIMECAP PRO $12.99 once, yours for good. Unlimited custom timers, and one-tap repeat of any workout in your history. No subscription. The free app is a complete gym timer, not a demo.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bowl Timer at none against TimeCap's 1. Bowl Timer also leads on ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimeCap sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Bowl Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.
