About

100ft

100ft is a social app for the people and places around you. Your feed fills with what's happening close to you, not with what's trending somewhere else. WHAT'S HAPPENING NEARBY Photos, videos, voice notes and text from people near you: a crowd outside a new café, live music down the road, the sunset from someone's terrace. Swipe through it all and see your neighbourhood as it is right now. HERE FOR 24 HOURS Posts fade after a day. When people Pin a post, it stays up longer. Nothing sits there forever and nothing goes viral. It's just what's going on right now, close by. NO ALGORITHM. NO FOLLOWERS. Every post starts on equal footing. Nothing is ranked by likes or watch time, and the app isn't designed to keep you scrolling. Distance is the only filter. No dark patterns. HANG OUT TOGETHER Start a hangout when you head out with friends and tag them. Everyone's photos from the night end up in one place. Tag a hangout at a café or restaurant, and it shows you were actually there. CREATE YOUR WAY • Camera with photo, video and dual modes, a timer, a grid, and fun face effects • Add music to your photos and videos • Voice notes and audio posts up to 2 minutes • Text posts, GIFs, and captions • Share with everyone nearby, or keep a post private just for you PRIVATE BY DESIGN You don't need a phone number or email to start. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted. Private posts are encrypted on your device before they're uploaded, so nobody else can see them, not even us. Lock chats behind a PIN, turn on disappearing messages, and recover your account on a new phone with your personal key and PIN. GROUPS FOR YOUR PEOPLE Make private group chats with the friends you already message. Share photos, videos and GIFs, reply to messages, and keep it all within your circle. YOUR TIME PAYS YOU BACK Posting, collecting Pins and viewing posts all earn points, shown as real value in your local currency. Everyone earns the same way. Followers and paid boosts don't count for anything. Your points are meant to be spent at real cafés and restaurants near you. YOU'RE IN CONTROL Mute, block or report anyone. Your location is only used to share your posts with people nearby and isn't kept past a post's 24-hour life. WHY 100FT? Social media was supposed to connect us to the world. What it gives us is a version of the world curated by an algorithm. 100ft connects you to the 100 feet around you: the place you actually live, and the people actually there. No influencers. No feed anxiety. Just your neighbourhood, live.
