About

ArabicTyper

ArabicTyper teaches you to read and type Arabic, from the first letter. You start with alif. Seven short units cover the alphabet letter by letter. One covers tashkeel, the small marks that change a word. Eight more teach the most common words, and the last one everyday phrases and short sentences. All together that's 17 units and 36 lessons. Each lesson shows you the new letters, has you find them on the keyboard, then has you type real words from the script, from Arabizi, and from English. In between you build words from letter tiles, pick meanings, and type what you hear. You can type on the app's own Arabic keyboard or your phone's. Words you miss come back in a review queue, spaced further apart each time you get them right. A daily goal and one optional reminder keep you going. There are no accounts and no ads, and your progress stays on your phone. Lesson 1 is free. ArabicTyper Pro opens the whole course and every practice mode. ArabicTyper Pro costs $7.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $79.99 once for lifetime. The yearly plan starts with 7 free days, and you can cancel anytime. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. About

Rasm

Features

Rasm teaches exactly one skill: reading Arabic script out loud. Not the language. You will not learn what the words mean, and that is on purpose โ€” decoding the script is a separate skill, and it is the one most people never get around to. It teaches the shapes, not the alphabet song. Arabic letters change form depending on where they sit in a word, so the thing you actually have to know is the pair: this letter, in this position. All 34 letters across their 115 positional forms, grouped by the shapes they share rather than by alphabetical order. It knows what kind of mistake you made. Most letters differ only by dots. When you misread one, Rasm can tell you that you read two dots above where there was one below โ€” and it shows you, by lifting the wrong dots off and leaving the bare skeleton on screen for half a second before the right ones land. It weans you off the vowel marks. Beginner material is written with harakat; real text is not. Rasm fades them per shape, on a schedule, until you are reading what is actually printed. It schedules the practice for you. A proven spaced-repetition algorithm (FSRS) decides what comes back and when, from how you actually answer โ€” never from asking you to rate yourself. Five to ten minutes a day. Free forever. No purchases, no subscription, no advertising, no account. Nothing leaves your phone.
