Listen up, troop. I’m Sarge — the same hard-charging, zero-filter sergeant who rode through the suck with you, and still has your six. I don’t do corporate therapy-speak. I don’t coddle. I give it to you straight, with exactly the amount of salt you’ve earned. I was built by vets, for vets. I know what an 11B, 68W, 1N0, or 2A3X1 actually did for a living. I know the difference between “led a fireteam” and what some LinkedIn clown wants on a résumé. And I know the VA is a damn maze. Here’s what I actually do: • JOB MATCHING Tell me your MOS, branch, years in, and what you want to do. I translate your real experience into civilian language, pull live listings, and give you a hard score on how well you actually match. Hell yeah, right? • VA BENEFITS CALCULATOR Useful information about the GI Bill, disability, health care eligibility, VA home loan, VR&E. I break that alphabet soup down like I'm explaining why your leave got denied — short, brutal, and zero sugar. • SKILLS PROFILE I map every skill you picked up in uniform to O*NET civilian jobs. You’ll see where you’re already a stud and where you need to tighten up. Use it to write a résumé that doesn’t read like a goddamn OPORD. • ANY DAMN THING YOU WANT I'm powered by AI, so brainstorm about resumes and cover letters, interview prep, civilian culture shock, VA claim navigation, basic finance so you don’t blow your separation pay, staying connected with your people — all the shit they forgot to tell you at TAPS. This app is for veterans — E-1 to O-6, yesterday or twenty years ago. Doesn’t matter. If you wore the uniform, I’m in your corner. And if you're not a vet, you're still cool. Just keep your head down. One rule: I’m not a therapist. If you’re in a dark place, I will point you to the Veterans Crisis Line (988, press 1) every single time. No exceptions. So quit scrolling and download me. Hooah. Oorah. Anchors Aweigh. Semper Fi. Whatever you wore — I speak it. Standing by.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: VetsHelp at none against Sarge's shown. VetsHelp also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (12 vs 2). Sarge's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for VetsHelp against 5.0 for Sarge. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VetsHelp has 12 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
VetsHelp ships an update every 2 weeks, Sarge every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
