Research indicates that regular and frequent formative assessments accelerate learning. This is because information retrieved from memory leads to better long-term retention. Another benefit is that frequent retrieval results in better organization of knowledge. Dipstick™ is a knowledge Analysis and Visualization platform for transformational learning outcomes, using tests as a learning process. A few key aspects of this approach are listed here, along with how the Dipstick™ Application can be used for the same. (A) Formative assessments Dipstick™ uses formative assessments to evaluate a learner’s understanding of the topics at short regular intervals. (B) Knowledge levels Dipstick™ helps in understanding learners' critical thinking and metacognitive skills, showing the depth of understanding of any concept. Therefore, a learner can understand his/her knowledge level during the learning phase and focus on the areas of improvement. App Features: Learner can review the performance report by topic/concept/sub-concept depending on the granularity created by the faculty and for multiple attempts. He/she can create plans for improvements with this objective analysis. Also, the faculty and learners share the same information. (C) Faculty feedback Dipstick™ enables faculty to get an overall assessment of an individual/group. They would know at a granular level which topic, concept, sub-concept etc., learners need extra help with. With these reports, faculty can customize their lesson plans based on the relative knowledge level of the group. App Features: Faculty can use the multiple granular reports available such as Topic level, Concept level and Sub-concept level reports and that too by division or grouping. Also, statistical distribution of the scores can be reviewed for further analysis. (D) Flipped classroom Dipstick™ is very useful in institutions using the flipped classroom approach. In the flipped class, the pre-class quiz is proven to be a highly successful practice. With Dipstick™ reports of the pre-assessments, faculty can design their classroom sessions to address areas where the group needs help. App Features: Knowledge analysis of pre-tests at individual and group levels. (E) Lesson agnostic Dipstick™ applies to various lessons across university, on-the-job training, seminars, workshops etc. For example, someone conducting a training program for a few hours can use Dipstick™ to demonstrate outcomes by comparing pre- and post-assessments. Even for short talks/seminars, speakers can understand the audience profile with Dipstick™ assessments. Please note that Dipstick™ usage is lesson agnostic and use case agnostic. Please contact us at hello@eklakshya.com for knowledge analysis with the Dipstick™ platform. Note: The tests may be conducted in any LMS. We can host the tests for you or we can integrate your LMS with our platform. Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Dipstick™ at 100% against SciSpace's 13%. Dipstick™ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.2). SciSpace's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Dipstick™ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.2. Dipstick™ ships an update every 6 weeks, SciSpace fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
