PracticePro
Read full descriptionHide full description
PracticePro knows your concert date, listens while you practice and remembers how in tune you play. RUN-THROUGH WITH ANALYSIS Play your piece or a section. The app records and goes through the recording note by note: green in tune, yellow close, red off. You see whether your instrument was flat or sharp and which notes wobbled, in your notation. Tap an unclean spot on the timeline and you hear exactly that passage. INTONATION WHILE YOU PRACTICE For strings, winds and voice, a graph shows where each note sits in the key of your piece. Perfect, Clean or Rough: five, ten or fifteen cents. When the signal isn't clear, the app shows no rating instead of guessing. A PLAN THAT FITS YOUR CALENDAR Give a piece a concert or exam date. The time check compares the hours it still needs with the free hours in your calendar. The practice calendar spreads your repertoire across those hours and recalculates every day. From your calendar the app reads only when you are busy β no titles, no contents. REPERTOIRE WITH CATALOG Type two letters of the composer and pick the work from a catalog of around seven hundred works for violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, clarinet and chamber music β with duration, difficulty and key. EVERYTHING FOR THE SESSION Metronome up to 300 BPM with silent beat and drone, tuning, recording with editor, time target, a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and widgets for your practice goals and today's plan. A session starts silent: nothing ticks and nothing records until you ask. PROGRESS YOU CAN SHOW Statistics, a practice journal, a weekly sheet as a PDF for your teacher and a share card after a run-through. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, βAsk the appβ answers questions about your own data, right on your device. PRIVATE Recordings, numbers and questions stay on your device and in your iCloud. No account, no tracking. FREE AND PREMIUM Try everything for seven days. Free afterwards: practicing with clock and streak, metronome, tuning, five pieces, recordings up to five minutes and five minutes of intonation a day. Premium is a purchase, not a subscription: unlimited repertoire with catalog, time check and practice plan, intonation and run-throughs without limit with history, statistics, journal and weekly sheet. If you already had Premium, you keep all of it. The intonation measurement is most reliable with a single voice at slow to moderate tempo; it measures intonation, not rhythm or tone. Piano, organ, harp and guitar get run-throughs without intonation measurement.

Verdict
Neotones and PracticePro are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters β price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them β neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
