Indian Lightning Detection Network (ILDN) is the first indigenously developed experimental lightning detection system in India with a goal of academic purpose and research collaboration among interested people. The network was conceptualized in 2018 and operational from May 2022. Quality-controlled data is available starting July 2022. Designed and managed by the Centre for Lightning and Thunderstorm Studies (CeLTS) at Tripura University, a network of Very Low Frequency (VLF) general purpose receivers and signal processors are deployed and operated across India with the help of collaborating institutions. As the rings shrink toward the center, the storm is closing in. • Trigger and measure right from the map and watch the rings update. STAY AWARE • A full‑screen close‑strike alert (with a strong haptic and a notification) when a strike lands within your chosen distance — 1 km by default, adjustable. • A Live Activity puts the running count and last distance on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. BUILT FOR THE MOMENT • Immersive "live" storm mode — prop the phone up and let it capture strike after strike, hands‑free. • Front or back camera (lay it on a table, screen up). • Calibrate light and sound sensitivity with live meters. • Beautiful dark, electric design throughout. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything happens on your device. The camera and microphone are analyzed in real time and never recorded. Your location and strike history never leave your phone.
