This app is free (no cost) and helps you improve your days and decrease the stress associated with remembering important list items for various purposes. It can help you in the following ways: 1. The data in this app is stored only on your device, which makes it private and secure, unlike most solutions where your information is stored elsewhere and where it may have an increased risk of being accessed. 2. Often in life, we use lists that we need again and again, for example a weekly grocery list. Instead of doing only the mental work every time and asking (do I have what I need?) or better yet (did I remember everything I usually need), build and manage a nice list, and use it again and again. 3. Often in our jobs we can decrease stress by using a list of steps for common tasks. In the business world this is often called standard operating procedures (sop's). 4. In our personal and professional lives, we're often in need of building a plan, and then being able to have a sense of status (percent complete, what's done, what's remaining) on that plan. This app can be used for lists that capture your plan. You can also look back on your plan. 5. One of the first steps recommended in the famous Getting Things Done approach is brainstorming. You can use this app to create lists of brainstormed thoughts about actions you need to take, conversations you need to have, decomposing work, and more. 6. Some people love to store recipes on paper in a treasured place (I do too), however, it's not always convenient to access that recipe book at home, and even worse, sometimes we lose a treasured recipe. You can add your recipe in a list in this app, and name it accordingly. 7. In any new job, we have to get used to our responsibilities. Having a good list that you reference often, is key. 8. We all know how important it is to keep track of those good ol' ToDos, and to get them done. You can use this lists app to help you with just that. 9. Sometimes we have long lists or multiple lists and we want to search them to find a particular list or item. This app can help make that easier for you to do. 10. This app doesn't need to totally replace paper, but it can be a very helpful paper supplement for you, and can even help save lots of paper if you lean on it enough. 11. You can print out your checklists and/or save them to your device outside of this app so that you have your own lists and records secure. 12. Many times we have a key process that we get to use often and to improve in order to increase our success. You can use this app to help manage and improve your processes. 13. You can create a more detailed description for individual checklist items. 14. You can leverage inspiring quotes and images in the app that encourage you to value checklists/plans/etc as you look to get done what you need to on a day to day basis. 15. There are no ads in this app so it helps you with distraction-free focus. 16. The checklist names and detailed item information can be in any language you want, providing you flexibility. 17. Some of our customers prefer to leverage lists for their benefit of memorization, with a single list that you can reference often for content you're trying to memorize. 18. Once we get enough ratings and feedback, we'd be excited to hear about your favorite lists, and any features that you'd like to see added! We'll enhance the UX as we go and want to get this functional, simple, dynamic list capability out to you (think of writing on a simple notecard without worrying about losing it!)

Notely is a notebook for iPad and iPhone that feels like paper and keeps everything on your device. Write by hand, mark up PDFs, record a lecture while you take notes, then study from what you wrote. There's no account and no cloud. Your notes stay where you wrote them. New in 1.4 Notely has a hand-drawn look now, with drawn icons and handwritten headings. I also rebuilt the pencil from scratch. It picks up the grain of the paper and responds to pressure, and if you tilt Apple Pencil on its side it shades like a real one. Record the lecture with your notes Press record and keep writing. Notely transcribes on your device as you go and remembers when each stroke was written. Later, tap a line of ink and the audio jumps to what was being said at that moment. Tapping a line in the transcript works too. Transcription depends on on-device speech support for your language and device. If it isn't available, Notely still saves the audio. Study from your own notes Make flashcards yourself, or lay tape over part of a page and quiz yourself on what's underneath. Cards come back on a spaced review schedule, and you can turn on reminders for when they're due. On devices with Apple Intelligence, Notely can also draft cards from a note and answer questions about it, with a link back to the page each answer came from. You review every draft before it's saved. Handwriting that turns into text Tap the handwriting button and Notely turns your writing into typed text, on the device. Anything it can't read confidently stays as ink. Search also looks inside your handwriting, typed text and PDFs. Pages or open space Use Letter or A4 pages, or switch a note to an infinite canvas when you need room to think. There's always a blank page waiting at the end, and if you don't use it, it's left out when you export. Templates include Cornell notes, dot grid, lab reports, math and physics pages, and music staff. Import PDFs and write on them, or scan paper pages with the camera. Private by default Notely works offline, with no analytics and no ads. Lock any note with Face ID or a password. Locked notes are kept out of Spotlight search and the widget. A few more things - Export pages as PDF or PNG - Back up notes to a .vectora archive and restore them without overwriting anything - Bring notebooks over from Goodnotes or Notability (PDF exports work best; native import is experimental) - A home screen widget with recent notes and a New note button - Shortcuts actions to create a quick note or open recent notes - Folders, tags and smart collections Notely is made by one person. If something bugs you, the support page reaches me directly.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: List at 100% against Notely's 33%. List also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4). Notely's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
