10,000 Steps

Your apps stay locked until you walk. 10,000 Steps turns the apps you lose hours to into something you earn. Pick them, set a daily step goal, and they stay shielded until your feet do the work. HOW IT WORKS 1. Choose the apps you want to use less. 2. Set a daily step goal — anywhere from 2,000 to 20,000. 3. Decide how much app time a day feels fair. 4. Open a locked app and you get your step ring instead of the feed. Walk. Come back. Tap once. It opens. Each unlock lasts 15 minutes. Then your apps lock themselves again — even if 10,000 Steps is closed, even if you force-quit it. BUILT TO ACTUALLY RELOCK Apps like this fail in two ways: the step count drifts away from what your phone really measured, and the apps never lock again once they have been opened. 10,000 Steps never stores a running total. Every number you see is read straight from the iPhone's motion coprocessor at the moment you look, so it matches Apple Fitness exactly. And relocking is a clock check, not a flag — there is no state to get stuck on. YOUR GOAL, SLICED INTO WALKS 10,000 steps for an hour of apps means four 15-minute unlocks at 2,500 steps each — not one 10,000-step wall at 9am. Walk past your goal and you keep earning. There is no cap and no streak to break. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - No account. Nothing to sign up for. - Your step data never leaves your phone. We do not use HealthKit and we do not upload steps. - We cannot see which apps you picked. iOS hands us opaque tokens, not names. - Not a parental control app. You choose your own apps on your own iPhone, and you can change them whenever you like. WHY 10,000 STEPS Walking that much a day is associated with deeper sleep, better cardiovascular health, lower stress, and around 400 calories burned. The hard part was never knowing that. It was doing it. Trade screen time for steps. Requires iOS 16.4 or later and Screen Time permission.
