mDNSShark is an open-source iPhone app that shows what is on your local network. It uses Multicast DNS (mDNS), DNS-SD, and SSDP to find printers, media servers, IoT gadgets, and other services on your Wi-Fi, with no setup. WHAT YOU GET - Device discovery: Bonjour/mDNS, SSDP, and subnet scans, with manufacturer lookups. - Security assessment: flags risky exposed services and checks device manufacturers against CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and the NVD. - Packet capture: see which servers your phone talks to (DNS lookups, IP addresses, ports) and export to pcap for Wireshark. - TLS Inspection (optional subscription): decrypt and read your own device's HTTPS traffic using a certificate you install and trust. PRIVACY Scans and analysis run on your phone. Your device list and scan results are never uploaded; only vendor names are sent to the NVD when you tap Refresh CISA Data. There is no telemetry, no analytics, and no trackers. Two things leave your device, and both are visible to you: while Packet Capture is on, DNS lookups go to the resolver you choose (Google Public DNS by default), and the Refresh CISA Data button you tap yourself downloads CISA's public catalog and asks the NVD about device vendors seen on your network. Discovery needs only local network access; Packet Capture also asks you to allow a VPN configuration. SUBSCRIPTION TLS Inspection Monthly is an auto-renewing monthly subscription. The price and any free trial are shown in the app before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or when a free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. Discovery, scans, and the Security tab are free. OPEN SOURCE mDNSShark is built by engineers who like transparent, lightweight tools, and it is open to anyone curious about local networks. Is it my Wi-Fi, or is the site down? Where does the connection break? Why does Safari distrust this certificate? Is my public IP really mine, or am I behind my carrier's NAT? Did my computer really wake up? Radien answers these questions on your iPhone or iPad, directly on the device, and honest about what it can and can't see. No ads, no trackers, no analytics, no accounts. Nothing you type is sent to a server we operate. WHAT'S INSIDE • Radien Checkup: one run checks your Wi-Fi, router, internet, DNS and websites, and tells you what is wrong. • Wake on LAN: wake a computer, NAS, server or gaming PC on your network, or away from home through your own VPN, then watch it wake. Radien sends the Magic Packet, watches for an answer, and says whether it woke and what to check if it did not. Siri, Shortcuts and widgets can wake it too. • Ping: latency, jitter and packet loss to any host, with a live chart and a plain-language verdict. Your router is one tap away. • Multi Ping: compare up to four hosts side by side, at once. Saved groups load a whole comparison in one tap. • Traceroute: every hop between you and a destination, with reverse-DNS names, the network that holds each address, and a read of where delay or loss truly begins. • DNS Lookup & Reverse DNS: query A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS and more against the system resolver or Google, Cloudflare and Quad9. Enter an IP for a reverse PTR lookup and the network that holds it. • Port Scanner: which TCP ports are open, closed or filtered (usually a firewall), never a fake vulnerability claim. • TLS Inspector: read a site's TLS/SSL certificate chain, protocol versions and cipher support, straight from your device. No third-party grading service, no invented grades. • Subnet Calculator: IPv4 and IPv6 math: CIDR, network, broadcast, host ranges and equal splits, with a live bit view and RFC-correct /31 and /32. • IP Converter: turn any IP notation into every other form, and see how an IPv4 address rides inside IPv6. • MAC Converter: every MAC address notation, EUI-64, link-local, and a fully offline vendor lookup. Randomized phone MACs are flagged as randomized, never given a fake vendor. • Network Details: your Wi-Fi name and access point vendor, local and public IP address with its network owner, router address, DNS servers, your real cellular radio (5G, or 5G riding a 4G core) and NAT64 detection, one tap from the always-on status header. ACCESSIBILITY Every screen is tested by hand with VoiceOver. Result rows read as one sentence, every long-press action is also a rotor action, and the ping chart supports Apple's Audio Graphs, so you can hear your connection as rising and falling tones. Larger Text, Reduce Motion and Voice Control are supported. One honest limit: I have no Braille display, so Braille output is untested. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Radien uses Apple frameworks only: no third-party SDKs, no analytics, no data collection. The MAC vendor and network owner tables are bundled on the device, and certificates are read locally, never sent to a checking service. Your network is your business. RADIEN PRO Radien is free to use, with a one-time Radien Pro unlock for the power features: Radien Checkup, Multi Ping, more Wake on LAN devices with groups, widgets and the Control Center control, custom DNS resolvers and extra record types, advanced port presets, full TLS depth, MAC vendor lookup, network names, alternate app icons, tuning options and sharing. Buy once, keep forever. No subscription. Built by an independent developer. Feedback is welcome and read personally.
