Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Video Editor at 4.9 against Snapery's 4.2. Video Editor also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 days) and ratings volume (20 vs 6). Snapery's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and review sentiment (81% vs 70%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Snapery sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Video Editor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Video Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 20 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Snapery's written reviews are positive against 70% of Video Editor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Snapery ships an update every 6 days, Video Editor every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
