PROtune vs StringKit

PROtune combines a precision instrument tuner, machine-learning-powered chord detection, and a tuning-aware chord library in one app for string musicians. Tune individual strings—even in noisy environments—identify chords as you play, or explore playable chord shapes adapted to your instrument and tuning. PRECISION TUNING • Achieve accuracy of up to 0.135 Hz—approximately 0.5 cent at A4 = 440 Hz • Isolate individual strings with Focus Mode for reliable tuning in noisy environments • Get responsive real-time pitch detection with minimal latency • Benefit from instrument-specific filtering, microphone calibration, dynamic input adjustment, and harmonic suppression • Set your preferred reference pitch instead of being limited to A4 = 440 Hz MACHINE-LEARNING CHORD DETECTION • Play a chord and see PROtune identify it from your microphone input • View the detected notes and note spectrum behind the result • Follow your chord history while playing • Set a capo position to display detected chords as the shapes you are actually playing • Clear the history with New Song whenever you begin a new progression STRING INSTRUMENTS & ALTERNATE TUNINGS PROtune supports a wide range of string instruments, including guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, double bass, bouzouki, lute, dulcimer, and cittern. Choose from standard and alternate tunings such as Drop D, Half Step Down, Full Step Down, Open D, Open G, DADGAD, Low G, and more. TUNING-AWARE CHORD SHAPES • Explore multiple playable positions for each chord • Generate chord shapes adapted to the selected instrument and tuning • Find options across different areas of the fretboard • Use playability assessment that considers finger placement and hand ergonomics • Explore major, minor, seventh, diminished, augmented, suspended, and extended chords Whether you are tuning before a performance, identifying a progression, experimenting with alternate tunings, or searching for a new chord shape, PROtune gives you the tools in one focused workspace.
