Uproar!
Read full descriptionHide full description
You know that moment at a party when someone puts on a song and the whole room starts arguing about who sings it? Uproar! is that, but as a game. Here's how it works. You pick a set of songs. You cast the game to your TV. A music video starts playing on the big screen. Everyone else scans a QR code with their phone — no app to download, no account to create, nothing. They're in. Now the race is on. While the video plays, every team is trying to lock in four answers on their phone: the artist, the title, the year, and the album. The video is your timer — when the song ends, time's up. Then comes the reveal. The TV shows the correct answers one by one. You watch your friends' faces as they realize they were one year off, or that they confused the single with the album, or that they had it right the whole time but didn't lock in fast enough. This is the best part. This is where the uproar starts. But it's not over. After each song there's a bonus round — a piece of music trivia about the song you just heard. The kind of fact that makes someone say "wait, really?" Worth extra points. Worth the argument about whether anyone actually knew it or just guessed. Then the leaderboard. Then the next song. Then more arguing. Until the final round, when the TV crowns a winner and everyone immediately wants to play again. What makes it different from other music quizzes: Most music quiz apps give you a clip and four multiple choice options. Uproar! gives you a full music video on your TV and four open answer fields on your phone. It's deeper, louder, and way more social. One phone per team means you're huddled together, debating, second-guessing each other. The TV means everyone in the room is part of it, even if they're not playing. Setup takes about a minute. Download on your iPhone, cast to any TV with Chromecast or AirPlay (or just plug in a laptop), and you're hosting. Players don't need anything except a phone with a browser. Works at house parties. Works at bar quizzes. Works on a Tuesday when you're bored and competitive. If you've ever played Hitster and wished it went deeper, or played Jackbox and wished it was about music — this is that. Year correct: 3 points. Album: 2. Artist: 1. Title: 1. Speed bonus for fastest lock. Consolation point if your year is within 2. Bonus round: 5 points. No penalty for wrong answers, because we're not monsters. Your music. Your friends. Your night.

Verdict
The clearest difference is device support: Dolphin Emulator at 3 against Uproar!'s 1. Dolphin Emulator also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Dolphin Emulator sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and Uproar! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
