Termix is a fast SSH client for your phone and tablet. It works on its own with no server needed, and you can link your Termix servers to sync everything and use their plugins. No Server Needed Hosts, logins and snippets are saved on your phone in an encrypted database, and every connection goes straight from the phone. Export a backup locked with a passphrase whenever you like. SSH Terminal A fast native terminal with smooth scrolling, text selection, links and mouse support. Open many sessions in tabs you can rename, drag, swipe between and split. Pick from many themes and fonts, pinch to zoom, and set it all per host. Extra key rows for Ctrl, arrows, symbols and tmux, with your own keys per host. Find in the terminal, attach to tmux, fill passwords and sudo prompts, and search your command history. Sessions keep running in the background, tabs come back after the app is closed, and a dropped connection reconnects without losing what you typed. File Manager Browse, edit and move files over SFTP. Upload and download with pause and resume, share files in from other apps, edit code with syntax highlighting, preview files, and keep a files panel next to the terminal. Host Metrics CPU, memory, disk, network, uptime and processes, with history so you can see what changed. Docker Containers, logs, stats and compose stacks. Start, stop and restart, or open a shell inside a container. Services Manage systemd and OpenRC services and read the journal with live follow. SSH Tunnels Local, remote and dynamic forwards that can start on their own. Snippets Save commands with variables and folders, and run them on many hosts at once. Remote Desktop RDP, VNC and Telnet straight from your phone. Hosts Folders with drag to reorder, colors and icons, jump hosts, host defaults, Quick Connect, Wake-on-LAN and host status. Import hosts from an SSH config or Termix file, export them, or share one with a QR code. Make Ed25519 and ECDSA keys and convert PuTTY keys. Termix Servers Link one or more Termix servers and switch between them while your tabs keep running. Each server keeps an encrypted copy on your phone, synced both ways, so its hosts work offline too. Choose per host whether to connect from the phone or through the server. Sign in with SSO, TOTP or passkeys, even behind a reverse proxy like Cloudflare Access, Authelia or Authentik. Server plugins like Homepage, Alerts and Proxmox open right inside the app. Install a server at https://docs.termix.site/install Home and Widgets Home shows your open sessions, recent hosts and live cards for pinned hosts. Home screen widgets open a host, run a snippet or check metrics without opening the app. Tablets and Keyboards Split view, a sidebar on wide screens, foldable support, resizable windows, keyboard shortcuts and trackpad support. App Lock Lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint, with a PIN as backup, and hide it in the app switcher. Free and open source.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Termix holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Termix has 21 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Forgejo Heatmap's written reviews are positive against 74% of Termix's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Forgejo Heatmap ships an update fortnightly, Termix monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
