FlightCheck puts your checklists, the numbers and a kneeboard in one app built for the cockpit. CHECKLISTS FOR 25 AIRCRAFT From the Cessna 152 to the King Air, Phenom 300E and Robinson R44: single-engine, multi-engine, turboprop, jet and helicopter. Phase-by-phase normal procedures, from preflight and engine start through takeoff, cruise, landing and shutdown, with a progress bar that never leaves the screen and auto-scroll to the next item. EMERGENCIES, ONE PRESS AWAY Emergency and abnormal procedures, one press from any checklist. V-SPEEDS WITHOUT THE PAGE FLIP V-speeds, limits and quick-reference performance data from the POH, beside the checklist. SCRATCH PAD Write with a finger or Apple Pencil on pages made for flying: Blank, ATIS, CRAFT clearance, PIREP and Hold. Each ATIS page ghosts the last one, so you only write what changed. Your tail number is already on the clearance page, and ATIS, PIREP and Hold pages are stamped in Zulu. Three ink colours, a stroke eraser, and pages that never scroll or zoom. Notes stay on your device. CALCULATOR Thirteen E6B calculators: true airspeed, density altitude, crosswind and headwind, heading and groundspeed, winds aloft, compass heading, distance-speed-time, fuel required, fuel burn, endurance, rate of climb, required descent rate and top of descent. Star the ones you use most, and set your units once: feet or metres, gallons, litres or pounds, inHg or hPa. MAKE IT YOURS Dark, Night or Day mode, three colour palettes and four text sizes. Night mode keeps your night vision with a red palette on every screen. Edit your own checklist profiles and item notes for each aircraft; profiles, notes, favorites and settings sync across your devices. FREE AND PRO Preflight and emergency checklists are free for every aircraft, with no account needed. FlightCheck Pro unlocks every checklist phase, full V-speeds and performance data, editable profiles, the Scratch pad and the Calculator. FlightCheck Pro is $5.99/month or $59.99/year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Always verify checklists, V-speeds and performance figures against the current POH/AFM for your specific aircraft and serial number before flight. FlightCheck is not a substitute for the POH/AFM, FAA regulations, your CFI's guidance, ATC readback, or official weather. Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: FlightCheck at 7 against AviCheck's 1. FlightCheck also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. AviCheck sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and FlightCheck sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for AviCheck against 5.0 for FlightCheck. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightCheck has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
AviCheck ships an update every 11 days, FlightCheck fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
