Hermes Journal vs Within

Need an extremely private journal? Meet Hermes, a fully encrypted journalling app made for privacy. You can create multiple journals and optionally lock them with a password. Each journal entry can have it's own password as well. There's no limit to how many journals and entries you can create. Everything is saved locally but you can export a journal as encrypted txt file.

Within is a quiet space for your thoughts. Not a productivity tool. Not a habit tracker. Not another app asking you to do more. Just a calm place to write, reflect, and grow at your own pace. A unique journaling experience Each entry you write becomes part of your personal garden. Your thoughts grow into something you can return to, over time. Simple and peaceful writing Write in a clean, distraction-free space designed to help you slow down and reflect. Insights and progress Gently track your writing habits and see how your journey evolves. Customize your garden Unlock elements and shape a space that reflects your inner world. Export your memories Save your thoughts as beautifully formatted PDFs or images, and keep them with you. Gentle reminders Soft reminders to help you pause and take a moment for yourself. Private by design Your data stays on your device. No accounts. No tracking. No ads. Within grows with you, quietly. Take a moment. Write. Grow.
