Idle vs Muteiny

Idle is a chat app built around widgets that lets your group chat do more than just talk. Because every group is different, so is every chat on Idle. Your rec softball team can add a calendar widget and a roster tracker. Your small business might need a shared Todo list widget or a place to share links. Your book club can create a poll or write in a shared notepad. And your neighborhood group can make announcements and add events to the board. In Idle, you never get features you didn’t ask for and you’re never missing the ones you need. WIDGES FOR ANY GROUP Every group has unique needs so only add the widgets that you need [Calendar] - Meetups, games, and sessions everyone can see at a glance [Events]- Post events with details and RSVPs so nothing slips through [Signup Sheets] - Keep tabs on attendance, scores, signups, or progress [Notepad]- Shared notes, lists, and agendas the whole group can edit [Paid Memberships] - Collect dues, fees, or contributions right inside the group [Polls] - Vote on the next book, the next date, the next anything [Announcements] - Pin the things that matter so they don't get buried New widgets are added regularly, so there's always more to choose from. CREATE YOUR OWN Need something that’s not off the shelf? Create your own custom one made just for your group. If your group has a need, your chat can meet it. SET THE VIBE Make the space feel like your group with custom wallpapers, your own emojis, and name tags. Idle Chat should feel like being in a friends’ living room, not the JPMorgan office. Muteiny is group chat organized by topics and side chats — so you can follow what matters and quiet the rest. Instead of one endless thread, each group is split into named topics like "Game night," "Trip plans," or "Pizza order." Topics can have side chats to continue discussing things that the rest of the group might not care about. MUTE THE NOISE Silence any topic or side chat with one tap. Other members still see the conversation — you just stop getting interrupted by it. Mute or hide topics entirely — it's personal and only affects your view. HEAR WHAT MATTERS Get push notifications for the topics you care about, not every message in the group. Pin your most important groups and topics to the top. REPLY IN CONTEXT Reply to any message with a quoted preview so the conversation stays clear, even in busy threads. SEARCH MESSAGES Find any message across all your groups and topics. Search stays on your device — fast, private, and always available. SHARE FROM ANYWHERE Share photos, videos, links, and text into Muteiny straight from other apps. Pick the group and topic without switching contexts. PHOTOS, VIDEOS & GIFS Snap a photo or record a video with the in-app camera, pick from your library, or send a GIF. Trim and compress videos before sending. POLLS, HEADCOUNTS, EVENTS & SIGNUPS Create polls with single or multiple choice, anonymity options, and expiration. Run a quick headcount — optionally set a capacity limit with an automatic waitlist. Plan events with date, time, description, RSVPs, and arrival times — including Going / Not going actions right from the notification. Subscribe to a Muteiny calendar feed for all your groups, one group, or one topic so events show up in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and other apps that support webcal. Post a sign-up sheet so people can claim what they'll bring — optionally one person per item, or allow multiple claims and let others add items. MAKE IT YOURS Set a profile picture and display name. Add a group photo or emoji to tell your groups apart at a glance. Personalize notification and reaction settings. INVITE YOUR PEOPLE Sign in with your phone number. Invite friends from your contacts or by phone number, or share a group join link so others can join. If someone was invited by phone before joining, they sign in with that number and the group appears automatically. Muteiny is built for real groups — families, friend circles, teams, and anyone tired of notification overload. Questions or feedback? Visit muteiny.com/support or email support@muteiny.com.
