About

Climbing Journal

Features

Climbing Journal is a private climbing journal and bouldering tracker with climbing grades, project planning, progress analytics, and structured hangboard training. CLIMBING JOURNAL AND BOULDERING TRACKER Use a fast climbing tracker during a live session or add a past day. Log attempts, sends, flashes, onsights, grades, wall angle, holds, movement style, exertion, confidence, falls, notes, and selected media references. Every session produces a useful summary with send rate, grade distribution, volume, movement styles, project progress, and personal records. CLIMBING GRADES AND GRADE PYRAMID Compare V Scale and Fontainebleau bouldering grades, plus French Sport, Yosemite Decimal, UIAA, Ewbank, and British route systems. Conversions are clearly marked as approximate because climbing grades are subjective. Build a living grade pyramid from sends, attempts, flashes, and onsights. Explore hardest send, average grade, volume, success rate, style profile, hold profile, consistency, and indoor-versus-outdoor progress without reducing improvement to one number. PROJECT MODE Track a boulder or route across sessions, including attempts, high points, completed sections, confidence, fear, crux notes, rest strategy, send conditions, and final reflection. The visual Beta Sequence editor maps hands, feet, holds, movement, difficulty, and success move by move. HANGBOARD TRAINING Run Max Hangs, Repeaters, Density Hangs, Recruitment Pulls, low-intensity introductory hangs, and custom workouts. The accurate full-screen timer includes prepare, hang, rest, and set-rest phases with audio and haptic cues, history, effort tracking, and post-session pain checks. CLIMBING TRAINING PLANNER Create an editable weekly plan for technique, volume, limit bouldering, projects, endurance, route mileage, hangboard workouts, antagonist strength, mobility, and recovery. Conservative rules prioritize normal climbing and technique for newer climbers and stop training suggestions when pain is reported. CLIMBING GYM, CRAG, AND WALL LOG Organize every climbing gym, crag, sector, wall, and training board. Attach sessions and projects to saved locations and review location-specific visits, hardest sends, styles, and active projects without depending on an external location database. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE No account is required. Your climbing journal works offline and is stored on device. Private iCloud sync, Health workout export, location capture, reminders, and data export are optional and requested only when used. Climbing Journal has no advertising SDK and no cross-app tracking. Climbing Journal Pro unlocks full historical analytics, unlimited projects, the complete climbing profile, all hangboard training protocols, the climbing training planner, private iCloud sync, widgets, complete exports, and advanced project analytics. Existing data remains readable if Pro expires. Hangboard training carries risk. Stop if you experience pain and seek advice from a qualified professional. Research summaries describe trained study populations and do not guarantee individual results.
