Understand Aussies, and sound like one. Aussie Talk turns any sentence into Australian slang, lets you yarn with Bruce, your AI Aussie mate, and teaches the words, sayings, place names and animals you'll hear from day one. TRANSLATE TO AUSSIE Type a sentence in English or your own language and get it back the way an Aussie would say it, read aloud in an Aussie accent. Share it with a mate in a tap. A new slang of the day waits on the Translate tab. YARN WITH BRUCE Bruce is a larrikin from near Tamworth with a blue heeler called Buster. Type in any language, or talk to him in one of 15 languages, and he answers out loud in Aussie English. Ask what a bit of slang means, how a local would say something, or when it's safe to use. Everyone gets a few free chats with Bruce each day. LEARN, ONE STEP AT A TIME Six stages, in any order: - Words: the words you'll hear from day one, at the cafe, the pub, the shops and work. - Sayings: what Aussies actually say, with a tag for where it's safe to say it. Each lesson ends with a short fill-the-gaps check. - Places: say the place names like you've lived here. The capitals first, then state by state, with a map to explore. - Animals: the ones on the postcards, the ones in your backyard, and the ones to keep away from. - Aussie life: a quick card game on how things work here, from the food to the pub and the big days. - Sport: read the clues and tap the sport, from AFL and cricket to the A-League and the NBL, plus the names you'll hear at work and at the pub. Hear the words and sayings the Aussie way, most of them recorded by Australian speakers, then say them out loud and see how you went. Practise any place, animal or everyday word in the pronunciation packs, test yourself on every saying, and look things up in the slang dictionary, with audio from real Aussies. WHAT'S FREE - Translate, and the slang of the day - A few free chats with Bruce each day - The first lesson in Words, Sayings, Places and Animals - The Food deck in Aussie life, and Sport level 1 - Names you'll hear, in Sport - The first word in every pronunciation pack, and all eight capitals in Places - Tips all over the Places map, with audio for the eight capitals - The fill-the-gaps check in the free Sayings lesson GO FURTHER: THREE PLANS - Lifetime Learning: pay once; it's not a subscription. Opens every lesson, every Aussie life deck, every Sport level, every word in the pronunciation packs, all the map audio, Test yourself, the crude sayings and the slang dictionary, yours for good. Eligible new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial. - Premium Monthly: everything in Premium Annual, billed every month. The app shows each plan's price in your currency before you buy.
