MyBella is an adaptive Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app designed to make personally meaningful words easier to find, choose, and speak. Many AAC boards are static: the same vocabulary stays in the same place regardless of the person, their routine, or the moment. That can leave an important word buried behind several categories. MyBella helps close that gap by personalizing the board around the user’s real life and bringing potentially useful vocabulary closer—without deciding what the user wants to say. The user always makes the final choice. HOW MYBELLA WORKS • Build and speak messages: Tap picture symbols to form a sentence, then hear it spoken aloud using the device’s built-in voice. • Adaptive suggestions: MyBella recognizes patterns in which words are selected and when, helping prioritize vocabulary that may be useful at that time. • Routine awareness: Caregivers can add a recurring daily schedule so relevant words may be suggested up to 45 minutes before an activity. • Personalized vocabulary: Build the board around the people, places, foods, activities, and phrases that matter to the individual. • Custom AI-drawn symbols: Enter a word and describe how it should look. MyBella creates a matching visual in the same clean, consistent style as the rest of the board. • Five supported languages: Communicate in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, or Arabic, including right-to-left support for Arabic and translated custom words. • Text-to-speech: Choose from voices installed on the device. Speech works offline and does not require a per-word fee. • Caregiver dashboard: A PIN-protected space gives caregivers control of routines, custom vocabulary, and personalization settings. • Accessibility controls: Adjust text, buttons, symbol size, colors, contrast, and motion to create a calmer, more usable interface. • Personal avatar: Customize a friendly avatar that can reflect the last feeling the user shared. WHAT MAKES MYBELLA DIFFERENT MyBella combines adaptive vocabulary, schedule-aware suggestions, multilingual communication, and custom symbol generation in one calm interface. Its AI does not speak for the user or claim to know what they are thinking. It narrows the search while preserving communication autonomy. Profiles, schedules, and custom words are stored on the device by default rather than pooled into a shared user dataset. WHY MYBELLA EXISTS Founder Ashley created MyBella after visiting her cousin Isabella in Brazil and seeing how few useful, affordable communication tools were available to her. Ashley continued learning through her work with ACEing Autism and spent the following year developing and refining the app with Isabella and her family. MyBella was built from that experience: communication should be personal, accessible, affordable, and able to travel across homes, schools, clinics, languages, and countries. MyBella is intended to support communication. It does not diagnose or treat a condition and does not replace guidance from a speech-language pathologist or other qualified professional.
