Plainfast is the honest fasting timer. Start a 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 or OMAD fast in one tap and watch a calm dial count the hours. No sign-up quiz, no account, no ads. Open the app and the timer is the first thing you see. You do not answer fifty questions about your body first, and you do not lose your past fasts after a week. Every fast you log stays in your history, free, for as long as you use Plainfast. WHAT IT COVERS • Intermittent fasting with 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 and OMAD presets, plus 24, 36 and 48 hour plans, or a custom target that suits your day • Longer fasts: the clock keeps running past your goal, so 24, 36 and 72 hour fasts are timed hour by hour • Water fasts and extended fasts logged the same way as your daily window • A 10-phase timeline of what typically happens as a fast goes on: glycogen use, the shift toward fat burning, ketosis. Each stage shows how sure the science is and the study behind it, and autophagy is marked plainly as not yet known in people KEY FEATURES • A plain dial that shows time elapsed, time left and your current phase at a glance • Live Activity and Dynamic Island, so your fast keeps time on the lock screen • Home screen widgets • Reminders for the start and end of each fast • Full history, streaks and stats, all free • A note on every fast, written when you end it or later from History • Weight log, plus mood and glucose logs after each fast • Weight sync with Apple Health (Premium) • Export your fasting history as a CSV file • Dark mode that is designed, not just inverted WHO IT IS FOR • Beginners trying 16:8 who want a timer, not a program • OMAD and 20:4 regulars who log every day • Anyone who does an occasional 36 or 72 hour fast • Women and men who would rather track quietly than take a quiz first PRICING Free: the timer, all presets, the phase timeline, full history, streaks, stats, logs, widgets and reminders. Premium (monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime unlock) adds unlimited custom presets, adding past fasts, mood and glucose correlation charts, and weight sync with Apple Health. Plainfast is a timer and a log, not medical advice. If you are pregnant, diabetic, take medication or plan a fast longer than 24 hours, talk to your doctor first. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Verdict

The call

Plainfast and Fasten are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
