Meanwhile vs Walkunda

I was looking for a way to reflect on my days and grow, to see patterns over longer amounts of time. But like many people, I always struggled with traditional journaling. The vast, empty page felt overwhelming, and the pressure to write something profound kept me from writing at all. So I built Meanwhile—a beautiful, minimal journaling app that evolves with you. Meanwhile keeps it simple: write one entry for today, one for yesterday. That's it. Just a minimal and beautiful space to capture what matters now and save it for reflection later. Your memories will resurface in time, reminding you of past thoughts days, weeks, months, or years later on the same day. MICRO-JOURNAL Capture fleeting thoughts Save daily instant photos Document your dreams Track simple gratitudes Chronicle your wishes SEE YOUR PATTERNS Over time, Meanwhile reveals insights about your life through gentle analytics—average entry length, common themes, and more. Plus, "On This Day" memories surface past entries, helping you see how far you've come. Features: ALWAYS PRIVATE AND SECURE Every word, every photo stays completely private. Meanwhile automatically backs up and syncs through your personal iCloud—no third-party servers, no data mining, no compromises. MORE FEATURES: Clean, focused interface with just today and yesterday Add photos or text to each entry Take photos using the instant camera Private iCloud sync across all your devices "On This Day" memories from past entries Analytics to spot patterns in your thoughts Customizable themes and colors for light and dark modes Home Screen widgets to show memories and insights No ads, no tracking, just journaling SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION: Meanwhile Advanced - $19.99/year Annual subscription that unlocks all features including import/export of backups, smart writing prompts, beautiful themes, and advanced widgets.
