Identify any banknote with a photo and see what it may be worth. NoteID is the banknote identifier for collectors, travelers and anyone curious about paper money. Snap a note and get its country, denomination, series and year, plus its condition, rarity and estimated value. From an old dollar bill in a drawer to foreign money from a trip, every note has a story. NoteID helps you read it. HOW IT WORKS 1. Photograph the front of the note or choose a photo from your gallery. 2. Add the back for a sharper match. 3. Tap Identify and explore the results. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HOLDING See the country, issuer, currency, denomination, series and issue year, with the variety, material, size, printer and catalog numbers such as Pick when available. Find out whether a note is still legal tender, can be exchanged or has been withdrawn. CONDITION, RARITY & VALUE Get a condition grade from Poor to Uncirculated, with a closer look at folds, stains, wear and edge damage. See how rare your note is, its estimated value and what drives it, plus tips for grading, care and selling. SERIAL NUMBER CHECK NoteID reads the serial number and flags the patterns collectors look for: star (replacement) notes, radar, repeater, ladder, solid, binary and low serial numbers. SECURITY FEATURES Learn where to find the watermark, security thread, hologram and color-shifting ink on each note, and which warning signs of a counterfeit to check by hand. HISTORY & DESIGN Discover the portraits, symbols and signatures on the front and back, the history behind the note and the facts that make it interesting. SIMILAR BANKNOTES Compare your note side by side with reference photos and see which look-alikes it's easy to confuse with. YOUR COLLECTION Save your notes, sort them into collections by country, currency or a theme of your own, add personal notes and search your scan history. BANKNOTE OF THE WEEK A new banknote story every week, covering its history, design, security features and collecting tips. Works with banknotes from around the world, in 40+ languages. GOOD TO KNOW Identifications and values are AI estimates for information only. A photo can't prove a banknote is genuine. For authentication or a formal appraisal, ask a qualified specialist. NOTEID PRO NoteID is free to download. Banknote identification requires NoteID Pro, available as a weekly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. WHAT MAKES A BILL SPECIAL STAR NOTES - replacement notes printed to replace damaged ones, marked with a star at the end of the serial. Roughly one bill in a hundred. Fancy serial numbers, all detected instantly: • Solid — 11111111 • Ladder — 12345678 • Radar — 12344321, reads the same backwards • Repeater — 74627462 • Super repeater — 39393939 • Double quad — 55553333 • Binary and true binary — only two digits • Low serials — under 00001000 • High serials — 9999xxxx • Seven of a kind, birthdays, bookends and more TRY IT ON YOUR OWN BILLS The first 20 scans are free and nothing is held back — print-run rarity, value ranges, the collection, stack mode, all of it. Check your own money, decide whether it works for you, and only then decide whether to pay. ONE PAYMENT, NO SUBSCRIPTION $4.99, once. Not a year, not a week — once. Every other app in this corner of the store bills you again next year. BUILT ON OFFICIAL DATA Print-run figures come from the BEP's own monthly production reports, 2002 to today, plus the published collector record back to 1935. Every serial range shipped in the app was cross-checked against the quantities printed alongside it — if the arithmetic didn't agree, the row didn't ship. RareBill also tells you what the lookup sites don't: small print runs are released in consecutive packs, so a low run number is not the same as a scarce note. Values are estimates from published price guides, not appraisals. RareBill is a reference tool for collectors: it makes no claim about whether a note is genuine, and it does not check your note for printing errors — the guide explains what to look for and leaves the judgement to you. Your camera never leaves your phone. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.
