Dash Lights
Read full descriptionHide full description
A light just came on. You are doing 65 with your family in the car and you have no idea whether that little orange symbol means "book a service" or "pull over right now". Dash Lights answers that one question. Tap the colour you can see, find the symbol, and read a plain-English verdict at the top of the page — before you read anything else. THREE ANSWERS, NEVER A GUESS RED · Stop now — pull over safely and switch the engine off. YELLOW · Get it looked at soon — you can drive, but book the shop. GREEN · Just so you know — the system is doing its job. Every symbol also tells you what to do RIGHT NOW, in numbered steps you can follow on the hard shoulder, plus what usually causes that light and whether a flashing version means something worse. 114 SYMBOLS, ALL OFFLINE The whole library lives inside the app. No signal on a mountain pass, no data left, no account, no sign-up — it works exactly the same. Nothing you look up ever leaves your phone. • Filter by colour, the way you actually remember it: "it was the red one". • Search by name or by nickname — type "horseshoe", "genie lamp" or "oil can" and you will still land on the right page. • Browse by system: engine, brakes, tires, lights, safety, hybrid and EV, driver assistance. • Meanings checked against ISO 2575 and FMVSS standards and manufacturer owner's manuals. TIRE SIZE CALCULATOR Thinking about a different size? Type the two sizes off the sidewall and see whether the new one actually fits: overall diameter change, how far your speedometer will be out at 60, and whether you are inside the ±3% rule of thumb. Plus the full load index and speed rating tables. All of it offline too. MY GARAGE Save the lights you looked up so you can show your mechanic exactly what you saw, and when. Add your cars and keep each car's history separate. Stored on your device — there is no cloud and no account. SPEAKS 10 LANGUAGES Every symbol name, meaning and action step is translated into 10 languages — not machine-swapped labels, but the words drivers actually use in each country: testigo del motor, voyant moteur, Motorkontrollleuchte. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone driving a car they did not buy new — used-car owners without the manual, parents handing a first car to a teenager, rental and fleet drivers who meet a new dashboard every week. FREE AND PRO Looking up warning lights is free and unlimited — no counter, no paywall in front of the answer, ever. That part of the app should be there for you at the worst possible moment. Dash Lights Pro unlocks: • Tire size and fitment calculator • Load index and speed rating tables • Unlimited cars in My Garage SUBSCRIPTION Dash Lights Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. • Weekly — $2.99 • Annual — $19.99, with a 7-day free trial Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price listed above. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. It explains what dashboard symbols mean and how urgent they are; it does not inspect your vehicle and cannot tell you what is wrong with it. Symbols and colours vary by manufacturer, model and year — always follow your vehicle's owner's manual, and see a qualified mechanic for anything mechanical. Not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer. ISO and FMVSS are referenced descriptively as published symbol standards.

Verdict
The clearest difference is device support: NoteID at 3 against Dash Lights's 1. NoteID also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. NoteID sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Dash Lights sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
