Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: TexSmith at every 2 weeks against Anibose's monthly. On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
TexSmith holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 310 and 419 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Anibose's written reviews are positive against 53% of TexSmith's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Anibose ships an update monthly, TexSmith every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
