Orbit
Read full descriptionHide full description
Orbit is a journal you cannot scroll back through. Everything you write stays on this phone, encrypted, with no account and no cloud. And everything you write is eventually destroyed β on purpose. That is the whole idea. Write a thought. Seal it into a capsule. Launch it into an orbit of 6, 12, 18, or 24 months. Then let it go. WHEN IT COMES BACK Months later the capsule returns and lands in your orbit. You open it and read what you wrote β once. You may come back for a second look, one time. After that the note burns and is permanently gone. Not archived, not in a trash folder. Gone. You can let a note burn quietly, just for you, or send a final image of it out to someone before it goes. WHY IT WORKS THIS WAY Most journals become an archive you never reopen β a pile of old selves you can search but never quite face. Orbit gives a thought exactly one moment to land, at a distance far enough that you have become someone slightly different by the time it does. Writing something you know you will lose is a different kind of honest. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION, NOT BY PROMISE β’ No account, no sign-up, no email β’ No servers β your notes are never uploaded anywhere β’ Encrypted on your device, with the key in the iOS Keychain β’ Included in your own device backup, so a new phone keeps your capsules β’ We cannot read your notes. Not for support, not for anyone PAPER CLIPS Sealing a capsule takes paper, and you get two free sheets a day. Extra paper costs paper clips, which you can earn by watching an optional short video or buy in small bundles. Nothing is on a subscription and nothing expires. BEFORE YOU START Orbit destroys what you put in it. Burned notes cannot be recovered by you, by us, or by Apple. If you want a permanent record of your life, keep a different journal. If you want somewhere to actually put a thing down, this is that. Made by thebbit.lab.

Verdict
