Thoughts rarely arrive neatly organized. And they don’t tend to wait around. I made Pit.Kit because I wanted somewhere to put a thought down as easily as I’d send a message to a friend. I kept getting caught up in organizing a note before I’d finished having the thought. Sometimes I lost it along the way. So I built the thing I wanted: open a chat, send whatever’s in your head, done. Make a chat for a trip, a project, or just “random stuff.” Drop in text, photos, videos, voice notes, documents, locations, or links shared from other apps. Each thought can be as short, messy, or unfinished as it needs to be. You don’t have to give every note a title or make it fit a template. Just put it down. When you need something again, search your notes, follow a tag, or jump to a date. Mark things done and filter what still needs your attention. Add a reminder to a note, keeping the original thought right there with it. Add nudges when one reminder might not be enough. There are quicker ways in, too. Create reminders through Siri or Shortcuts, open the reminder composer from your Lock Screen or Control Center, and use widgets to see what’s coming up. Then there’s Notty, the little helper you’ll find around the app. Ask how something works, get help rewording a note, or ask about the notes in a chat. Notty can also find reminders and prepare changes for you to review. You confirm before it changes your saved notes or reminders. Notty’s AI runs on your device. On supported devices, it can use Apple Intelligence. Pro adds Expanded Intelligence, a downloadable on-device model for deeper reasoning, broader language support, and understanding photos you ask about. With Pro, you can also turn on personalization so Notty’s replies take your preferences and note habits into account. Pro also adds Custom Entries: optional rating and measurement inputs you can set up inside a chat. Rate a coffee, log a measurement, and keep those entries alongside your ordinary notes. Your notes are stored on your device first, so you can keep capturing without an internet connection. Optional private iCloud backups help you recover them later. Pit.Kit collects usage and crash diagnostics to help improve the app. Your note contents, attachments, and conversations with Notty stay out of those diagnostics. Your notes stay yours. No feed. No followers. No workspace to set up. Just somewhere to put things down before they get away. Custom Entries, Expanded Intelligence, Notty personalization, and widget customization require a Pit.Kit Pro subscription, available in-app. Expanded Intelligence also requires a model download. masterfile is five everyday tools in one quiet place. Scratch, Vault, Budget, Notes+, and Kanban. Built for people who'd rather think than juggle apps and for those ready to start tracking. — Scratch — Type anything. As you write, a chip appears suggesting where the line belongs, tap it to promote. Credentials go to Vault, money goes to Budget, ideas go to Notes+, tasks go to Kanban. One note keeps your mind clear, the modules keep your day organized. — Vault — Logins, cards, and credential keys, locked behind your device's authentication and stored only on your device. No account, no sync, no tracking. Real device-level encryption underneath as masterfile just makes it pleasant to use. — Budget — Multi-currency budgeting that actually understands how Filipinos, especially freelancers and remote workers earn. ₱, $, ¥, €, and 20+ more currencies tracked in parallel. Net worth stacked by currency, category-level budgets, calendar view, and a calm pie chart of where the month went. — Notes+ — Plain notes for the quick stuff, rich notes when you need them. Folders, tags, internal linking, checklists, bookmarks, document-scanning, camera, attachments. Reading mode opens each note like a printed page you set yourself. Highlights, links, and headings all preserved where you put them. — Kanban — Every project, sorted into columns. Priority flags, due dates, color labels, archived cards, and an aging indicator that quietly tells you which cards have been waiting too long. — Widgets, Notifications, the rest — 19 home-screen widgets across all five modules. Credit card due dates, budget thresholds, friendly nudges. Soft prompts to keep you tracking, organizing, and checking in. Every alert opt-in, every one off by default. — How masterfile stays calm — No account. No tracking. No ads. masterfile lives on your device, owned by you. One purchase unlocks every module, every widget, every alert. Yours forever, no subscription, no renewal. Launch special — one-time unlock at the launch price, until July 31. Regular pricing returns on August 1.

Verdict
Pit.Kit and masterfile are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
