Find Japan’s temples and shrines, remember every visit and keep the pages of your goshuin book in one personal journal. DISCOVER YOUR NEXT TEMPLE OR SHRINE Explore more than 36,000 mapped places across all 47 prefectures. Search Japanese or English names, filter by prefecture and place type, and switch between gallery, list and map views. Open walking directions in Apple Maps when you are ready to visit. REMEMBER EACH VISIT Keep a wish list and favourite places. Record repeat visits separately, with a date, personal note and optional offering amount in yen. Mark a visit as goshuin received when appropriate. Find your recent visits, most-visited places and favourites, and review your recorded offering totals. SCAN YOUR GOSHUIN BOOK Scan one or several pages with a supported iPhone camera, or import a photo. Adjust the crop and perspective, then add a title, date and note. On-device text recognition can suggest matching temples or shrines; check the suggestion before linking your page. You can also choose a place yourself or keep a standalone scan. Search your scan library, zoom in on details and share an individual page. After saving, open the linked place directly from your scan. Change or remove the link later while keeping the image. HISTORY AND JAPAN’S CHANGING TEMPLES Read sourced histories, starting with Meiji Jingu. Explore official temple and shrine organisation counts for 2019–2024. Compare annual figures and inspect the original sources. These figures describe organisations; they are not counts of closed buildings. COLLECT AND REVEAL ILLUSTRATIONS Start with free illustrations of Dazaifu Tenmangu, Hokkaido Jingu and Senso-ji, without an account or purchase. For other selected places, a saved goshuin scan linked to the exact place can be used to request a free illustration unlock. If you confirm this optional verification, a small stamp thumbnail is sent to our server and Gemini to check the match. Artwork is available for selected temples and shrines. Optional one-time prefecture packs reveal available artwork in that region; All Japan covers all available regions. Restore purchases in Settings. No new subscription is required. Downloading additional artwork requires an internet connection and Sign in with Apple. A QUIET PLACE FOR YOUR COLLECTION A calm ivory-and-ink design, clear navigation and your choice of decorative Shuincho side band keep the focus on your places and pages. Use larger text and Reduce Motion, with a consistent light appearance. Japanese is the default language; English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese are also available. KEEP YOUR RECORDS CLOSE Browse the bundled catalogue and save local records without an account. Visits, favourites, offering amounts and collection notes stay on your device. Scan images are processed on device for text recognition. Sign in with Apple for optional private iCloud scan-library sync or additional artwork downloads. BEFORE YOU VISIT Coverage is partial. A mapped place does not guarantee that goshuin are available, and artwork does not confirm reception details. Source-reviewed information is labelled. Check the venue’s latest official announcements and follow its worship, photography and goshuin-book rules. KEEP YOUR FORTUNE SLIP Add an omikuji result, number and up to four slip pages to each visit. Review the crop and recognised text before saving. On supported devices with Apple Intelligence available, request an on-device explanation; manual entry remains available. Public catalogue sources: Wikidata (CC0) and OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).

The clearest difference is ads: GoShuin at none against Tabikit's shown. Tabikit's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
