Date Tracker helps you log your dates, notice your patterns, and date with intention instead of just winging it. It's a private space to keep track of who you're seeing, how you feel, and who's actually a great match for you. When you track your dates, you can easily figure out who you want to keep dating and who's not a match without having to run to your group chat for every decision. What you can do: - Log each date, including how you felt and what you learned - Reflect on between-date texting and communication - Spot patterns across the people you've dated: who you pick, what hooks you, where it tends to go sideways - Track why connections end, and what you can learn from them - Check the pulse on a connection and see whether it's building or stalling - Keep everyone you're currently seeing organized in one private, judgment-free place - Get guidance and resources along the way, plus quick answers to dating FAQ so you don't get stuck Who it's for: You've done the work. You know your attachment style. You're looking for the real deal, and you're tired of dating in circles. Date Tracker is built for intentional, self-aware dating, not endless swiping. Created by Talia Koren, host of the Dating Intentionally podcast, who tracked all of her dates in her notes app with an emoji key. With the help of her dating reflection log, Talia met her husband on a dating app after going on 150ish first dates with over 60 people in 10 months. Dating doesn't have to feel like guesswork. Start seeing what's actually going on, and date like you mean it. Terms of Service: https://www.thedatetracker.com/terms

First Date is a private journal for your dating life - not a dating app. Use it alongside the dating apps you already have, or for people you meet in real life. Keep track of who you're talking to, walk into each date with a few good questions, get home safely, and write down how it really went while it's fresh. BEFORE THE DATE - Three questions for tonight, chosen for what you're looking for (casual, long-term, marriage or just exploring) and for the interests you share. Shuffle for another set. - Write a one-line intention ("stay curious, home by ten"). Your reflection asks how it went. - Plan the venue with Apple Maps details and walking-time context. - Conversation prompts in five tones: playful, curious, direct, vulnerable and witty. DURING THE DATE - Safety check-ins: reminders ask if you're home safe. If you don't confirm, a second reminder opens a ready-to-send text to a contact you chose, with the venue. You press send. - A fake incoming call when you need an easy way out, with the caller name you pick. - An offline date-safety guide that works with no signal. AFTER THE DATE - Guided reflection: questions that get past "it was fine", a star rating, how you felt on the way home, and whether you'd see them again. - What felt good and what gave you pause, as tags. - Voice memos with on-device transcripts. - A heads-up when someone has gone quiet, on a threshold you choose. PATTERNS - Quick stats across your own history: dates per person, how long you talk before meeting, how often you leave feeling like yourself. - With Pro: filters by app, venue, pacing, chemistry, follow-up and how you left; month-by-month trends; and written patterns once 10 people are logged. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything you save stays in the app on your iPhone or iPad. There is no account, no server and no sync, so your journal never leaves your device. Voice memos are transcribed on the device. Venue search uses Apple Maps. No analytics or ad SDKs. Add a Face ID lock whenever you like. FIRST DATE PRO - ONE PAYMENT, NO SUBSCRIPTION The journal holds your first 5 people. First Date Pro is a single Lifetime purchase: it lifts that limit and adds deeper filters, month-by-month trends and written patterns. It never renews. Safety check-ins, the fake call, voice memos with transcripts, guided reflection, date-night questions, the Face ID lock, screenshot import and conversation prompts stay in the free journal. NOT A DATING APP First Date does not match you with anyone, host a profile, show a feed or message anyone for you. ABOUT SAFETY Check-ins remind you and pre-fill a message that you send yourself. First Date does not contact emergency services, does not share your live location and is not a monitoring service. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: First Date at 5.0 against Date Tracker's 4.6. Date Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Date Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 3 months and First Date sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
First Date holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Date Tracker has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
