Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Synapse at 5.0 against Parla·'s 2.0. Synapse also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). Parla·'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 78%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 11 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Synapse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Parla· sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Synapse holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synapse has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Synapse's written reviews are positive against 100% of Parla·'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Synapse ships an update every 11 days, Parla· every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
