Saving a recipe is easy. Actually cooking it is a different story. You don't know what you have at home, you're not sure what you need to buy, and by the time you figure it out, you've already ordered takeout. eKitchen was built to close that gap. Tell it a little about your kitchen. It doesn't have to be exact. Just knowing you've got eggs, olive oil, and some pasta gives eKitchen enough to start showing you recipes you can make right now, and recipes that are only an ingredient or two away. Find new recipes by cuisine, difficulty, or cook time. Import recipes you find online, on TikTok, or Instagram. They all land in your cookbook, ready to go. Pick one recipe or pick five. eKitchen checks what you need against what you have and builds a shopping list with prices that fit your budget. Your kitchen grows with every trip to the store. Step-by-step cooking mode walks you through each recipe. When you're done, rate it, leave a tip, and track what you've cooked. eKitchen gets smarter about what to recommend next. Your saved recipes and your kitchen are finally on the same page.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: eKitchen at 5.0 against Kept's 4.0. eKitchen also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Kept sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. eKitchen asks for nothing beyond the download.
eKitchen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: eKitchen has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
eKitchen ships an update fortnightly, Kept monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
