QuackIndex helps U.S. duck hunters bring weather, wind, nearby water readings, terrain context, state regulations, and hunt journals together for a saved hunting spot. See a daily 0–100 QuackIndex score built from 3 plain, always-visible factors — Duck Movement (50%), Water Conditions (30%), and Huntable Wind (20%) — no hidden math. It is a planning aid—it does not count ducks or guarantee hunting results. FEATURES • Duck Movement — weather severity, wind push, and season timing (including a dedicated blue-winged teal early-season model), plus a real barometric-pressure signal, with Freeze Severity, Temperature Trend, and Pressure Trend broken out right below it. • Water and terrain — see nearby USGS gauge readings, USACE reservoir data, or NOAA tide information when available, plus satellite water context, hillshade, wetlands, maps, and public-land context. • State regulations — review waterfowl season information, bag limits, and official source citations for your saved spot. Always confirm the linked official rules before hunting. • Know Your Ducks — a free U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service field-ID guide. • Hunt Journal — log hunting and scouting activity, then request AI analysis of patterns in your own entries. QUACKINDEX PRO Unlock extended forecasts, deeper movement-map tools, terrain layers, Look Back to reconstruct any past date's score and movement map, and unlimited AI Hunt Journal analysis. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: BlindBook at every 4 days against QuackIndex's fortnightly. BlindBook also leads on ratings volume (29 vs 5). QuackIndex's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlindBook sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and QuackIndex sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BlindBook against 5.0 for QuackIndex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlindBook has 29 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 89% of BlindBook's written reviews are positive against 100% of QuackIndex's.
BlindBook ships an update every 4 days, QuackIndex fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
